Bond and Beyond Film Reviews

edited April 2017 in The James Bond Films
I wanted to make a review (s) of the James Bond films, giving my "perspective" on the characters, some notable information and trivia while still attempting to come off as funny. Have no illusions, this is some form of self promotion but I also think that my videos are worth someones time, which is why I made a topic about 'em. They usually sit on the 15-20 minute mark. Give me any feedback possible, relax and enjoy yourself.

Casino Royale (2006)

(opinion video) My Ultimate Bond Movie

The World Is Not Enough (1999)

SPECTRE (2015)

I had released a new video. It was an experiment but I managed to re-score a scene that had been bugging me (and other fans alike). It's the From Russia With Love hotel bug tracking scene.

In the summer I will probably do some Dr No re-scores.

Slight revival of this thread, I haven't forgotten about it; I don't have the time to write, record and edit a video these days and I won't for about a year now.
I'm considering a number of ideas on improving my content in the meantime and I hope that it will (eventually) be back stronger than ever.

Now, I came prepared for a cold reception and since the lack of replies (except about my Sir Roger tribute) for all my other content, I don't think that anyone on here cares about them that much but I'm considering a name change for my channel since there is already a well known podcast around these circles that some of you are fond of that has the same name as it. Shot them an email and they never replied; I will probably keep it due to their lack of trying to convince me otherwise.

Since I can't say anything of use at the meantime, and if anyone intends to ever see my Bond reviews, they were supposed be passive aggressive critique (which require a bit more energy than I gave them) blended with info, humour ( now that's a :)) ) etc. in a neat, well edited package.
Don't think I've worked out the perfect formula for all of it to be natural, good and cool without it coming off as particularly pretentious (especially the critique) or sleepy. I don't think it's half bad but you're going to have to bear with me in the first two, in SPECTRE, I think I came closer to my ideal video, something I'd like to watch.

Well Punky Dude, Im not one for watching vlogs, but if there is a similar vlog with a similar name then in my opinion it is only fair to change it ?. How about, Bond, You know the rest ?

Too...Brosnan era for my taste ;%
I'll figure something out, though it was a great name and briefly summarised what I wanted to do with it.
"It's the biggest...it's the best...it's Bond and Beyond."
    No other tagline had that.
    Thanks for chipping in, though.

I finally watched one of your reviews (SP)- the "name-dropping" joke made me laugh out loud, and the Eastwood dialogue was also funny. Nice to hear your voice (if that is it, of course). Good job! Totally agree re Newman.

Now watching your TWINE review. Disagree that Renard is the dullest Bond villain ever (that would be Dominic Greene- and yes, I realise that technically Renard is a henchman, rather than the villain) and I think the "I never miss" line is superb. I agree that Zukovsky is one of the best Bond allies, and enjoyed the tribute to Q.
Small point- David Arnold doesn't conduct the music (he composes it), Nicholas Dodd does that. Agree re "City Of Lovers", disagree that Sheryl Crow's TND theme beats Arnold's work.

    PS- loved the rimshots!

It is my voice I wasn't aware of that fact, if I could add annotations, I would definitely try to remedy that.
Thanks for your feedback, Barbel, it really means a lot to me coming from you.
I intend to make that a running gag and looking back at the end titles, Roger still remains immortal for me and I'll continue to use him for future videos as it is a brilliant line.
