Has anyone ever identified this?

Awhile back I presumed it was a sewing machine pedal but, having looked at thousands, I'm now thinking it must be a control to something else.

What a coincidence Alan, I started the hunt about two months ago and am hitting the same problem, as always though I am a persistant bugger and will find it eventually :v

You guys are the props experts. But could it be a foot pedal for a dentist's drill?

    Dentist's drill pedal:

Edit: you may also want to check out foot pedals for welders. Many of those have the larger box base.

Or a tape recorder or a reverb machine or a paper cutter or a glue applicator or ... if you search "foot (pedal, control, switch)" on eBay there are over 50K results, any one of which might be it.

Oddly, that same search plus "white metal" nets just a dozen or so listings.

You wrote that you'd looked at "1000s" of sewing machine pedals. I thought you were looking for alternatives. I'll get out of your way. Good luck!

Sorry, wasn't meant to be critical. Just that "alternatives" are near infinite. Certainly it could be a welders' pedal. But having likely eliminated sewing machine pedals, it could be just about anything.
It's going to take a number of people looking or someone who happens to recognize it.
