    I imagine there aren't many like Roger Moore left in Britain. By this I mean people who have been famous for a very long time and are almost universally loved and respected. Right now I can only think of sir Richard Attenborough, Sean Connery, Vera Lynn and of cource the queen.

    R.I.P. Sir Roger Moore. For such a long time you were my favourite Bond, making the series fun and accessible. You brought your charm and great sense of humour to the character, creating some very enjoyable films.     Thank you for the laughs, the thrills, and the warmth you brought to the Bond role. Thank you for being apart of my childhood along with Sean, Tim and Pierce.

    I have to say that the worldwide acknowledgment of Sir Roger has surprised me. It's been widely covered, widely discussed and is still going. Great to see that he has been celebrated as much as he has.

He was always a likeable man, and despite what people thought of him as Bond (my favourite), he was appreciated beyond his underrated acting abilities. But ultimately, people appreciating Sir Roger for who he was is better than if it were all about his acting career.

    {[] Agreed. Though he was my least favourite Bond, I very much enjoyed him as an actor, and am in awe of his off-screen passions and accomplishments. There's plenty to recommend him as a top-notch human being if he'd never stepped in front of a camera.
