I'm not sure whether this merits its own thread or should be posted in the Pros and Cons thread, but Connery's fifth has now joined the 50 year club. Would anyone like to share their memories of seeing it for the first time, and indeed, was anyone fortunate enough to see it back in 1967?

It's very late but I'll probably have my review up tomorrow.
Wasn't it June 12th, as it was released in the UK or do we consider US to be worldwide?
If so, that suits me nicely.
    a reasonable rate of return

The premiere date was the 12th but general UK release wasn't until the 13th.

I was 11 in 1967 and I first saw YOLT that summer when we were on holiday. Bondmania had reached it's summit with the TB release but I can remember being so excited as we sat in our seats in the circle (upstairs and downstairs seating in those days). I can still remember those space scenes in the PTS which seemed real back then, the Sumo wrestling, the dockyard sequence and of course the brilliant volcano set and last but no means least those gorgeous Asian Bond girls. I sympathise for those who have not seen YOLT on the big screen as the mammoth production values cannot be appreciated on a TV.

The next time I saw YOLT would have been on a double bill in about 1973 - I cannot remember what the other film was - I even think it may have been a Clint Eastwood movie instead of another Bond.

I am lucky enough to have seen all the Bond films on their original release at the cinema and although nothing will beat the anticipation of TB this runs it very close. Happy memories indeed.
Yeah, well, sometimes nothin' can be a real cool hand.

Lovely to hear from an original Bond film fan like yourself, CoolHandBond. :)
