It's weird I like it but then I don't, while I like all the red, white and blue and a nod to the Royal Navy, the naval insignia on the back, I do not think anything beats the original SMP. I am not sure about the 007 logo on the second hand. It's a nice take on a traditional watch and I am sure there will be an audiance for it. But with no film due out this year it's a bit of a weird one from Omega.

I like the NATO strap it will look great on my PO Ti 8500 and i am sure I will pick one up. I like the gold version but that will be expensive.

Given DC's Bond was ex SBS I was expecting this one in Lovat green

Of course if this ends up on Bonds wrist in a film I will eat my poo :D

    Cheers :007)

I like the name! But that colour combo,it's not for my taste.

I agree regarding the NATO strap, I'm also considering picking one up from store once it's out. But I doubt this will be in film, though it might be a hint that they will go back to the Seamaster Professional maybe?

Just seen it on my feed, I usually get an email from Omega when they have a new release. I like it, though they could have done more with the dial. But I won't be getting one and I still think the 2500 smp is better looking.

That's even uglier, but at least it's a true "limited edition."

I think it's one that will grow on you but like my Spectre SM 300 I doubt it would ever see the steel bracelet. Issue for me is as soon as they add rubber to the bezel then it squarely sits in the sport watch bracket rather than the original that could be sporty and stylish you could wear with a suit or jeans.

I also think the box is great

The most aesthetic part of the whole setup is the box. :))

    I think I will pass on this one -{

Quite possibly the most vile of the Bond ltd editions. And that's against some serious competition too :)) I'm RN born and bred, and that is not going anywhere near my wrist. Prepare for it to be heavily discounted in 8 months time.

Wasn't paying full attention and only just noticed that it's called "Commander's Watch" not "The Commander". Actually really disappointed, the latter sounds so much better.

    Quite like the NATO strap.
    And the box.

But it's a NO from me!
Ruined by the 007 second hand. I think this will go the same way as the LE Bond Aqua Terra...

My opinion carries zero weight.. as I couldn't drop that kind of cash for a watch... regardless.. it just looks tacky.. like a really cheap promo item.

Ah I think one of the members here mentioned he heard a Bond watch is to be launched soon on the Watch Porn thread. We all thought unlikely since no film this year - it must be this!!

    Not very nice at all!

Yes I'm the one who said a new Bond watch was being launched. I guessed it was a LE but was hoping for a Bond 25 connection.

Quite enjoyed the guy who said he works for Omega and no way this was going to happen.

Bond ID prop out for the Omega event. Get a great look at the details!

When I saw this yesterday, I thought that it was a fake of some sorts.

While I think a white dialed dive watch can look stunning (especially on a mesh bracelet) this watch looks like a reject from a yachting regatta. Add to that the ludicrous 007 seconds hand and this Commander's Watch is an all around loser. It would never be worn by Bond; maybe by a trust-fund douche named Tucker.

I wonder if the Omega box can be purchased separately?

I dunno, I could see Tom Higgly's Bond wearing this....we could call it "The Not That Swift!" :D

I also thought it was a fake when I saw paperbills first picture.
It does have aspects I really like, the medal box style case, I like the nato, the rotor and the red 7 on the date wheel, but Im not a fan of the rubber ob the bezel on this or the new planet oceans. I have a Ti and orange po and the rubber seems to me that it will age and deteriorate which negates all the work omega have done with their ceramic bezels. omega seem to be going over colourful at the moment which I have mixed feelings about. The 007 counterweight on the second hand had never found favour with me, though on the CR le po it was less obvious.

Mmmm if the strap is supposed to represent the Bond's rank then why does it translate to Lieutenant and not Commander? :#

I don't think they meant the strap is inspired by the rank, the strap is just a reference to the ensign colours as well as a probably a vague similarity to medal ribbons. It's just the rings on the box and the case back that are rank related.

Having given it some thought, I think after 22 years on Bonds wrist they would have got a better response if the had re released the original with updated indices and ceramic bezel (like the 2500 series) but stayed to to its original form. Throw in a NATO sure but keep it more in line with the later 2500 model but with a ceramic bezel and this case back and box etc.

But as I say I think it will grow on some

So far my favorite comment about the watch at Hodinkee:

"Feels like Omega first missed the Americas Cup, then 4th July and finally caught up and decided to issue as a Bond watch"

Best comment I saw about the watch was, "It looks like Fisher Price came out with a 'Baby Bond's First Watch'"

My opinion is that this is AWFUL. Seriously, I am trying very hard to find something that is redeeming about this thing...but I just can't. Doesn't feel like it has any association to Bond, feels forced. It's a big WHY from me.
