Daniel Craig's third outing as OO7, the 50th anniversary of the film series, and the 23rd EON Bond film.
Pros:
- Thomas Newman's score is the best in the series since John Barry's score for TLD.
- A darker, character driven narrative, that focuses on a twisted villain, like Goldfinger.
- The fight against the neon lights
- Craig's performance as Bond is arguably his best.
- The relationship between M and Bond
- The casino scene in Macao
- Sam Mendes' direction
- The introduction of Silva, his character in general, and Javier Bardem's performance
- The relationship between Bond and Moneypenny
- The scene where Silva tries to force Bond to shoot Serverine
- The beautiful cinematography
Cons:
- One of the weakest title songs in the series. Nowhere near as bad as TMwtGG but still not very appealing.
This is the first time I've watched Skyfall for a few years and I was immediately pulled in. It's jumped from 11 to 5 in my rankings and is easily one of the best films in the series.
