CR Armani replica project

The CR Armani jacket is one of my favorite.
I tried to find a decent replica of this jacket, but with no success.
The problem is the quality of the leather, which makes all the difference. For this reason, I have decided to have it tailor-made.
After several attempts and versions this is the final result.
I used all the info that I could gather on the Internet.
The only.difference is the length, which is one inch longer than the original (which is too short IMO).

What do you think?

Thank you for your feedback.

Cheers

    I have the Wested Replica which is currently being tailored. Looks very similar to your jacket. You'd have to ask someone who actually owns the jacket but from what I've seen from pics/the movie it's a really dark brown color. Your Jacket and mine are still relatively a darker hue of brown but not quite the actual Armani (could be wrong).

    I agree that the original is very short and so is my replica. Can't blame you for going longer at the expense of screen accuracy and an inch isn't much so it should still have the short look.

    It's one of my favorites as well. You'll never see another leather jacket quite like it which was part of the appeal to me and it's functional as well with all the pockets. Quite Bond as you can put all your extra ammo and gadgets away.

    Shame I rarely get to wear it though. Too hot out here and have to wait for the coldest winter nights unless I want to sweat to death.

    By god.
    It's too darned big!
    I don't think a tailor could help you and it would be a shame to waste all that extra fabric.
    a reasonable rate of return

    Damn, how fitted is this jacket when a XXL is 44 inches? Glad I decided to take mine to my tailor who is doing it for me for $60. It looked decent off the rack but I can't wait to see how it looks after it's adjusted to fit me near perfectly.

    BTW, that's a great price. I don't think I've ever seen it listed that low, not even close.

    The biggest problem with leather jackets is the fit. I know this is sacrilege but most of the better fitting leather jackets I've seen on people are the cheap faux leather stuff. Hell, I have a Shenmue "leather" jacket and it fits me perfectly with no adjustments but my Armani Replica sadly didn't.

    If you have a leather jacket that fits right, you're in a super minority because a lot of people avoid leather jackets and a large % of people that end up getting one don't have a proper fit. Not to mention that most leather jackets these days aren't even leather.

    That jacket, now owned by our own Welshboy78, actually has a larger chest than 44 inches. Real Real often under measures the chest. I've seen them do it with many jackets that I have owned examples of.

    The CR Armani basically ran one size small. The size 54 Armani has a chest of 45 inches.

    Good to know. Annoying that a company can't get simple measurements right when selling something for that kind of money. Then again, they are consignment and even high end retailers have trouble accurately describing sizing hence we have to constantly ask each other how something fits.

    Companies need to start giving EXACT measurement of their product. Not this will fit a size X-Y chest. Give the exact chest width, waist, sleeve length, shoulders, and overall length. That way you can easily just compare what you get to your own measurements or another jacket you have so there is no confusion with sizing.

    Due to vanity sizing, I've made the mistake of buying the larger size at times based on the vague sizing description provided only to have it fit like a bag when arriving.

    Many companies have realized that people have gotten bigger but rather than simply keeping the older sizing they adjusted the measurements for what a S, M, L, etc..actually is. The Medium of today was the Large of yesterday. Unless you are one of the designer brands where an XL is actually a M :))

    I fully agree with you, the quality of the leather is so important.
    I have chosen Nappa leather, which is so soft and comfortable.
    The shape was a real challenge. The jacket doesn't have shoulder pads and because of the softness of the leather you really need to cut it right -{
  • Looks great!

    Your replica certainly doesn't look like any corners were cut in the development process. Great attention to detail.

    Well done. -{

    Please find below the measurements of the jacket:

    Arm length 70cm or 27.5 inches
    Back 64cm or 25 inches
    Chest 55cm or 21.5 inches

    It should correspond to a size M.
