AMC Hornet from Man with the Golden Gun up for auction

Saw this one come up today. Not the Aston but no doubt a cool addition to someone's collection. Wonder what it will actually fetch at auction.

I don't know if its true but the stuntman was missing and they used a random crew member to perform the jump.

    A beauty.
I'm sure the other car stolen from the dealership is somewhere out there aswell.

:)) Reread what you just posted and have a think. You can work out whether it's true or not quite easily.

Could be for the driving of the Lotus Esprit S1 you are thinking the stunt driver was not around and was driver up the hill to its limits by Roger Becker who was suppose to be there to deal with any issues with the cars. He at least knew what the cars limits were.

No, I remember it being said for The Man With The Golden Gun. Nevermind.
I think that the car didn't look fast and exciting when it was driven by the stunt driver and the Lotus guy drove it "like it was meant to be driven", or something along those lines.

The driving stunt co-ordinator and designer for TMWTGG was Jay Milligan, it was his vision that brought the corkscrew roll to the notice of Broccoli & Saltzman. Milligan completed all of the driving stunts for the movie and was due to drive the corkscrew but was called away to fulfil other commitments so the job fell to fellow professional stunt driver, Canadian Loren “Bumps” Willert, often misquoted as 'Willard' Willert was a veteran of Joie Chitwood's Auto Daredevils stunt show. He died Feb 14 2016.

As an aside, Bumps had never done the stunt before and had never driven the AMC Hornet prior.

So there is a small grain of truth hidden away at what I remember.
    Very interesting.
