Some people get quite sensitive over this stuff. In the end, we’re all here for the same reason. -{
"Sensitive" may be a little strong. "Mildly annoyed" might be more appropriate. A couple of years back there was a whole "Props vs Clothes" thing that happened on here. Hence the "Props - No Clothes" thread title. Which is fine imo. I agree we're all here for the same reason: to enjoy Bond. We just enjoy different aspects of the character. And enjoying one aspect (clothes for example) doesn't mean a member can't enjoy, appreciate or respect other aspects (the novels, the soundtracks, props, posters, etc.). And (again imho), members have every right to criticize what they're seeing so far if it doesn't work for them. Just don't go around sh!tposting in threads that don't interest you trying to shame other members for liking what they like.
That's what I thought urhash was doing before he clarified the intent of his post.
As for the wardrobe we’ve seen so far, they are obviously going the Casino Royale route and using the clothes to help tell the story. Which is fine. I’m sure there will be a big moment where Bond puts on his armor (a suit or DJ) and gets back in the game.
All the holes seen in the shirt in those latest shots tell me that Bond must not have replaced the tee since his Venice cruise in 2006
Wonder who here are going to add the holes to their T-shirts to get the screen accurate look! )

Some boaters are a bit superstitious about certain items, I once commented on an instructor's top being a bit worse for wear when doing my day skippers course, only to be told "I've rung seawater out of this top from every ocean on the planet, and when I can't wear it anymore I'll frame it and hang it in the galley".... Shut me up and I've kept a few items I'd always wear on a boat. So who knows, maybe this is bonds boating tee?
It was either that.....or the priesthood

Fair point. I recall the props vs. clothes thing a little while back. It’s really a distinction without a difference in my mind. And there’s definitely a line between being critical of a costume chioice and criticizing someone for liking it. The former belongs in this thread and the latter does not.
And there was me hoping for him to wear some ob bulldogs and a meden shirt.
They could still be OB, right? Maybe just something not available yet? Wouldn’t it be bizarre if the filmmakers eschewed a beach ware brand Bond has worn in the past, and with whom EON now has a licensing agreement, during scenes where Bond is on an island and sailing on a boat?? How could he NOT wear OB? Omega and Heineken better watch their backs. )

Although early stages, im not filled with excitement on the wardrobe front thus far. I will agree in terms of how it fits the story and surroundings the jean and shirt combination is fair enough, but now seeing pretty basic swim shorts and a grey t shirt, it isnt Bond for me. Although swimshorts are hardly high on a style agenda i think there is plenty of sea worthy outfits and combinations that would look smarter and be a bit more Bond, what we see on the boat here looks lazy to me.
Happy to concede and take the jean and shirt combo as it works for the story and backdrop etc, heres just hoping for a stella casual jacket and something with a bit more substance and style in upcoming set pics. Hoping the suits are nicely tailored too. Ill certainly dip into the market if something looks the part and to be honest there were quite a few pieces in Skyfall and Spectre i liked and bought so ill be keen to keep an eye out for something to go for.

It’s just that Jany Temime set the bar too high on her two films stint.
But if you look back to previous movies, Bond has always had that nonchalant relaxed apparel.
With that being said..
%100 agree with you that they still could have had smarter choices or more British brands as another member mentioned . There is a difference between being lazy or being relaxed. We will certainly find out as we see more outfits down the line. Let’s not judge too soon.

I already have an H&M t-shirt like this (minus the holes), so I an set.
One could be in costume while the other is not.

But I don't think these are them. Unless the sunspel model has chicken legs and sized up.

So it certainly not an OB.
Most likely another American random brand.
Either way, pass for me
Well he did with Brunello in SPECTRE
Questions: I'm not the only one that thinks that these shorts
are different from these ones, am I?
And is that a zipper pull on the right side?
