    Good find. I located one on french ebay, only with a slight difference: there are the additional letters PX on the left side before the Vuarnet branding. Otherwise the exact same glasses. There‘s still one up atm actually...

    Well gentlemen, I went to Tommy Bahama today and had the salesman search all of the stores for the Catalina Twill Shirt in Black and he couldn’t find any. But, there is a version of it for the current season. The closest thing I found is like a midnight navy. It’s so dark it looks black, but I’m certain light has a blue tint. I tried on the medium and it felt great. It’s a cotton and silk blend, with a little elastane for stretching. I took some pictures of the fit, the cuff stitching, and the collar stitching so you could compare it to the one Bond is wearing. Besides finding the old shirts, I think this is the closest we can get.

    Although early stages, im not filled with excitement on the wardrobe front thus far. I will agree in terms of how it fits the story and surroundings the jean and shirt combination is fair enough, but now seeing pretty basic swim shorts and a grey t shirt, it isnt Bond for me. Although swimshorts are hardly high on a style agenda i think there is plenty of sea worthy outfits and combinations that would look smarter and be a bit more Bond, what we see on the boat here looks lazy to me.

    Happy to concede and take the jean and shirt combo as it works for the story and backdrop etc, heres just hoping for a stella casual jacket and something with a bit more substance and style in upcoming set pics. Hoping the suits are nicely tailored too. Ill certainly dip into the market if something looks the part and to be honest there were quite a few pieces in Skyfall and Spectre i liked and bought so ill be keen to keep an eye out for something to go for.

    It’s just that Jany Temime set the bar too high on her two films stint.
    But if you look back to previous movies, Bond has always had that nonchalant relaxed apparel.

    With that being said..

    %100 agree with you that they still could have had smarter choices or more British brands as another member mentioned . There is a difference between being lazy or being relaxed. We will certainly find out as we see more outfits down the line. Let’s not judge too soon.

    Fair comment, although Jany set the bar high would it not be healthy competition professionally to try and match or top previous installments in this area. I was under the understanding that that was always the idea to better the previous films in as many areas as possible or at least attempt to.

    Having said that, to be fair it is early on and im sure there will be better to come. The relaxed approach is fine but i thought the Skyfall Levi Menlo, Zara shirt & Topman chino's was inspired and i suppose i was hoping for something similar baring in mind its a similar vibe at this point in the story.

    As i said though maybe im being harsh baring in mind its only day 3 of filming :))

    I'll say I have all kinds of sunglasses. Matsuda, TF, MJ, Oliver, so on... none of them come close to Vuarnet's lenses. The sunglasses are worth it for them, alone.

    I can't defend the grey jeans, topsiders or basic navy swim trunks because ... well ... they're grey jeans, topsiders and basic swim trunks. They are what they are and there's literally 100s of the same floating around.

    But, putting aside the label, the Tommy Bahama shirt is actually quite cool, imho. To me, it's like the Sunspel Riviera or Tom Ford SPECTRE polo. Upon first glance they also just looked like generic pieces. But when you look closer at the TB shirt, there are some interesting details that set it apart from the pack: one-piece collar, pick stitching, straight hem, the fabric. 99% of the audience won't notice (and it's doubtful any of those details will even be apparent on-screen during the first watch). But they make it just different enough to stand out from a normal black linen shirt.

    However, I agree with others that the TB shirt could have worked just as well with some linen trousers and espadrilles. That look could have done the same job of showing a semi-retired Bond living in the Caribbean (and would have looked better doing it).

    Guys I think everyone here lamenting the outfits we've seen so far are forgetting the context; Bond is retired. He's also living on a remote island in the Caribbean. He's not going to be running around in expensive clothes. Those items are not going to be readily available to purchase. He's going to shop at the local stores and purchase what's there.

    I know it's Bond, but it's not '60-'70's Bond. Craig's turn has always been more about a more realistic approach. It's been the common theme through all of his movies. This one won't be any different. -{

    Another good point but ironically ill point to the enjoying death outfit. One of the best in Craig's era IMHO yet. Fit the scene and had all the elements of what sets Bond apart from the normal character. Bit of class yet suits the environment and story line.

    I do actually get the shirt and jeans and shoes we've seen in Jamaica, its just not what i was expecting, a bit deflated on that one.

    Ill take it in my stride and reinforce the point that its early doors but having seen outfit 2 (albeit not a hugely important outfit), it doesnt get my juices flowing and rushing to the shops.

    Im sure we'll have better to come, i appreciate though that its in the details as the Varvatos Spectre suede jacket on the surface doesnt look much but the fit, quality of materials, colour and stitching really made it a lovely piece which i did pull the trigger on.

    Lets move past it and carry on enjoying the build up and im 100% convinced it will all come together visually and ill be proven wrong on upcoming outfits, onwards and upwards

    Everyone is aware of the storylines and that Bond is semi-retired and must wear clothes to reflect that status and state of mind..

    What I think everyone is saying is ..
    Since Bond still looked amazing Enjoying Death and unemployment in Skyfall, why can’t we see something as amazing in Bond 25.

    My answer to that:
    - we only saw one complete outfit so far. Too soon to judge.

    - Jany Temime Sat the bar too high in her 2-movies stint. Because if her European vision and access to British brands, she made Bond look more fit and smart even when he’s down. A lot of fans are used to that. Let’s face it, she will be a very tough act to follow. Must of us knew that.

    - brings me to my 3rd point : A side from Skyfall and spectre, Bond has always had that nonchalant non-flashy way of clothing that we see now on set.

    If the cinematographer uses the same orangey-filter in B25 which they used in SPECTRE, that shirt is going to look psychedelic :s :))

    I think we’re seeing a return to the Lindy Hemming school of dressing Bond. Which is to say, (1) using the clothes overtly to help tell the story, (2) unremarkable, but appropriate casual clothing, and (3) very little to no consideration of the heritage or national origin of the brand.

    I’ll be honest with you, if the suits are well turned out and FIT, I am willing to sacrifice the sharp casual clothing of the last 3 films. I know that’s a minority view around here, but that’s what really matters to me. And say what you will about Brioni and Lindy Hemming, the suits were nearly always classic and beautiful.

    Non-Bond 25 image

    To make my point, This image is from Jany Temime’s current project “6 underground”
    Her trademark of smart and fit is very visible on Ryan’s outfit . ( I’m aware this is not the same storyline as Bond, I’m talking here in a general sense)

    9061-F085-9-F0-C-4740-A7-AA-A557-C3-DCB8-E0.jpg

    Quite the opposite , Lindy’s style is more relaxed and nonchalant. Makes it easy for Bond to blend in. I think Suttirat is going for the same direction :) smart decision specially since Jany is a very tough act to follow.

    I personally think suttirat is a very talented designer -{

    Overall some excellent views and fairly put. I’m happy to shelve my thoughts til we see more. As mentioned I’m sure the best is yet to come in different contexts of the film.

    The details on the shirt look well but not a fan of the look but agree it fits with the retired vibe and environment of the these at this point in the film.

    I’m probably being inpatient and eager to snap something up, my time will come no doubt, it has in previous outings and this one won’t be any different I’m sure.

    Great conversation guys and nice to hear different angles.

    Although I know people have said Skyfall & Spectre Craig has been dressed well but let’s not forget and in my opinion QOS & CR has some excellent outfits and I wouldn’t say any of his 4 films so far Craig has been poorly dressed either casually or formally.

    The QOS Haiti outfit comes to mind as a strong outfit and 1 to this day I always take on holiday with me. Excellent

    Forward we go -{

    Does the pink shirt have any kind of collar? Is it tucked in, or does it have some kind of weird v collar like a cardigan?

    Could be the collar is tucked in to keep it away from make-up or from those facial recognition dots.
