Hi, this shop from the Netherlands seems to have some of the Palladium 76689-819 in stock:

These are the PAMPA LEATHER ESS MAHOGANY 76887-257-M that you can also consider. Does anyone know if this is a Palladium signature shoe that will be restocked anyway?

Probably objective, but any owners of the Tom Ford grey jeans—are they worth paying 4x the price you would for a pair of say R&B? I’ve been seriously considering grabbing a pair recently but part of me is still on the fence.
  • frommeyerfrommeyer ChicagoPosts: 418MI6 Agent
I love them. But you're not wrong that the price is kind of insane. I'd love them a lot more at $500 shipped rather than the $750 I paid.
  • NoiNoi Posts: 718MI6 Agent
the price is really insane, especially since there are so many alternatives that look almost the same. But I have to say that the TF have this bluish touch that I havn't seen on any other light gray jeans yet. But mainly one pays the price for the SA feeling and everyone has to decide for himself whether this feeling is worth the money to him
I was on the fence too but purchased them and once combined with the full jamaica outfit there was no turning back for the jeans haha

My 2 cents - I own a pair of darker grey TF jeans I got during one of their sales at over 50% off, and a pair of AG jeans that look like the SA TF's color-wise. I will say the real TF jeans feel heavier weight and more durable (they are also selvedge if that matters) but as far as simply getting the "look" there is no reason to pay the premium. The real TF jeans I have took a little breaking in to get more comfortable and even then, they don't really have any built in stretch qualities.

To me paying for the SA TF is only worth it if you're die hard about having the exact item. I've only bought the blue shirt from TF collection so far, because there is no real alternative and it truly is unique. Light wash grey jeans are everywhere from every brand imaginable..

Thanks for the input lads—I might wait a little and see if I can pick up a pair for a little cheaper than retail. Disappointed I missed out on that pair a week or so ago on eBay that went for around $300. What’s the waist measurement like on the SA (slim?) pair? True to size?
  • frommeyerfrommeyer ChicagoPosts: 418MI6 Agent
I'd say they're mostly true-to-size. Maybe a little slim down at the calves? Not a problem for me personally (no matter how hard I work at the gym). If you're of an average build I'd aim for your exact size; e.g. if you're a 33 waist look for a pair of 33s and you'll have a perfect fit after wearing them enough.

Hi Noi, are you sure these are the same? Because the Mahogany as you wrote have the Number 76887-257-M.
Although they look pretty similar I must admit.
On the Avantisport page under Specificates it says Artikel nr: 76689-819. Why would they make this up? Could of course be that they just forgot to update.

its the same model but have different colour, Member 00 has pointed this out on page 231.
the pictures of the Avantisport shows the 76887-257 darker model but you are right about their descripton; it says 76689-819 (which are normally described with Pampa Leather Hi) , better ask them before you purchase, I think some shops didn't update their pictures or model-numbers because both models are described with "Mahagony"

if it is Palladium at all I assume its the Pampa Leather Hi 76689-819 in a lighter colour from their 2018-19 season (very hard to find now, unfortunately a result of the delays :S), the Leather Ess is from a more later season, probably around 2019-20. I can only speak for myself and I'm 80% convinced that these are Palladiums, its hard to say if they will do a re-release of the sa model if they get confirmed so the darker model seems to be a close alternative but again thats more or less speculation, but apart from NTTD they work as a good alternative for the CS Converse boots

My memory may be going after 232 pages but wasn’t this said to be a custom piece made by the wardrobe department?

Absolutely no idea, it's for that I'm asking. Maybe someone with a good memory can confirm

I recall it was custom made too, can’t think where I read that. I’ve spent a long time looking too, but to no avail, which reinforces that notion in my mind

I read the same thread a while back, but I thought it was in regards to the possible danner boots
worn with the assault pants and Npeal commando sweater. A member suggested the boot
    was sprayed / dyed black.

Any suggestions on getting palladium on board to see if they can confirm and or give insight into which models where released in 2018 and 2019? Anyone have a catalogue maybe?

I wrote them and they told me they have a member of their staff who's in contact with Suttirat for another job they're working on. He'll try, if possible, to get the confirmation directly from the source :D

Those who own Palladium boots I‘d appreciate any size recommendation. Are they true to size?
    Many thanks!

Blair I posted this question on your video but I was wondering is your Bond peacoat the 100% wool version or the later versions that are a blend and which version of the Seamaster are you wearing?

Very informative video Blair. A bit of a surprise subject matter (not giving spoilers :)) ), but very welcome. The machinery used and craftsmanship demonstrated are truly becoming a rare thing.

It reminded me of some videos documenting old school shoe production and repair.

Hi Mike. It's one of the original run 100% wool ones. To answer your other questions, I wear the Casino Royale Planet Ocean on an Omega NATO strap and the Casino Royale SM300.

Cheers, Paul. Always a giggle and the team at Dents are just wonderful. And the gloves although handmade, are not extortionately expensive, so they're a good present to buy your other half and give her a slice of 007!

Just had a lovely email from Stefanie at Connolly.

I’d contacted her at about 5pm on the Saturday of the original post but had heard nothing since. She apologised for the delay in getting back to me (apparently, she has had a lot of emails and questions to answer) but assured me that I was definitely on the list. Payment has now been sent, so all is good.

Poor person! Perhaps she could actually get around to contacting people about their orders if only she had a little time to do that...!
    Yes. Considerably.
