I think the sloop suit would, or could, work in certain climates/location and be more acceptable. Like here in the states, seersucker and poplin suits are more apt to be seen in the southeast or in more humid climates. I wonder if the Sloop would fit in Matera kind of like the seersucker and poplins do here in the Southeastern US.

I just got my Mr. Porter suit - no loose threads but there is minor smashing of the cord (pictured). Given the price I don't care too much. I have two Sloops now and I do plan on wearing the hell out of one. I like - and echo - what Ferinstal said; this is something that can easily fit into your casual life. I'm already seeing myself wearing it on weekend dates in spring/summer.

Growing up here in the southeast.. I can't help but want to slap anyone wearing seersucker.. :)) :)) The Sloop is a much better option.. :)) :)) (Sorry to the seersucker fans here.. seersucker just screams obnoxious entitled frat boy)

Does anyone else not recall the bearded man on the dealer's left? I've probably seen CR 100 times but can't remember ever seeing him.

During this dry spell, I was wondering what people think of the amount of cuff that Bond has on show in CR. also, how do we feel that his jacket wasn't buttoned up when he was sitting down in CR?

Yes he’s Charlie Levi Leroy, character name Gallardo - no Mandela effect here!

I’m telling ya, he’d look much better wearing the Matera Sloop suit and an open necked, crisp white shirt! ;)
    Yes. Considerably.

I like the extra cuff - isn’t that why you would buy/wear a shirt with great cuffs/cuff links?? And a jacket that would show them off?

Personally, I would never sit with jacket buttons still done up.

Obviously, I bow to the sartorial guidance of Matt S. (who I have learnt so much from) but I have always unbuttoned any jacket I have worn when sitting down.

    +1 Agreed.

That feels like a better look for a hot day in Matera.

I have to disagree. Open-neck, yes, but a crisp white shirt is too dressy for such a casual suit. I think a blue shirt is perfect, but not denim. Something like chambray or voile would be ideal.

Also, how do you not remember the iconic character that is Gallardo ;)

    s-l400.jpg

Also, I don't disagree that the Sloop suit would have looked better if he had a white shirt. HOWEVER....I believe that shade of blue was chosen to match the primary colour scheme of the Matera sequences. That blue shirt matches the sky and Craig's eyes. It looks odd in set photos but in actual film stills, it makes sense. Linus Sandgren did a similar thing with the photography and costumes in La La Land. Those costumes would look gaudy out of context, but on film they are stunning.

For example, please see the below:

Good luck to anyone that tries to get their label issue resolved by Connolly.. Still waiting on shirt here with no ETA and no replies from customer service.

While I get the whole "cut them some slack bc of 2020" etc stuff.. I've found their customer service to be very lackluster even factoring that in. Personally, I won't be able to ever recommend Connolly to anyone in the future.

Totally! The only ones I can immediately recall wearing them were lawyers or even some ministers. I used to sell suits back in the day when I lived there too. Those are almost always the ones that would come in looking for them. Seersucker suits are truly interesting.

I genuinely dont understand the harshness of the sloop suit. If ya dont like it, then thats totally ok, you don’t have to buy it. I have seen it look good on some before but obviously this falls into the category of dont buy stuff just bc Daniel Craig. Buy what you like but buy what works with YOU. Isn’t the point of “collecting” Bond items to be able to wear in the real world? Knowing you own something Bond wore is cool, but owning and being able to regularly wear a Bond item feels so much better.
Also consider, Craig is on his 5th Bond film so wearing “different” or more DC looks was bound to happen by now if not sooner. I do agree that this also was ‘find something you like that goes well with this scene’s colors’. Regardless of your thoughts on cord suits it’s pretty spon on color wise with the Matera scenes which seems to be the primary focus, something DC likes, looks good on him, matches the scenes colors.

I'd be sending that straight back to Mr Porter - clearly the cord has been damaged and should not be sold in that state!

I expect to mess it up far worse than that over the next few years. The first character dings.

I was thinking about this a few minutes ago and realized I actually packed a shirt that would work just about perfectly with the Sloop - both in fabric and color - the Spectre OB Morton. I haven't had the suit tailored yet so it's a bit messy (and I wasn't gonna take a proper non-bathroom photo because of it).

Hi everyone, I am enquiring as to whether many people who ordered the Mauko's from Alessandro are still waiting to be contacted for payment? I know Covid and Christmas have played a large part in the limited roll out of orders, but I just wanted to make sure before I made contact with MA. Thanks and Happy New Year!

I suspect it might be worth a little nudge? They're on the site now and I bought mine just through the store in the normal way - delivered in 48hours.

Frommeyer, I think it looks great. Once you have it tailored and such it will be fire.

Do we know if the Rogue Territory jacket has only a single scene? Seems a bit of a waste, especially considering how good that DC looks in it. Would have preferred this jacket for the showcase during the Norway scenes opposed to the green duster

Yes that looks great! Embracing the casual nature of the suit is the way to look sharp in it, ironically.

    With brown suede chukkas?

No one knows how much screen time it will get.

I will tell you that it doesn't clash with the Connolly shirt, which I just received, but it's not a great combo either IMO.

I won't be wearing the RAIN duster. There's just no way to pull it off without people who've seen NTTD — assuming anyone ever will! — thinking you're dressed for cosplay. The look is simply too fashion forward and distinctive.

That said, I've been on the lookout for a more conventional casual jacket that matches the unique color of the RAIN to wear with the Maukos and the Connolly shirt. The specific shade of light olive/khaki is elusive!

Screw what other people think...it is a lot of fun to wear especially on windy walks...and besides, there's at least a year to go before anyone has seen the film! :D :#

plus as long as the pandemic holds no one can come within 2m of you to ask if you'd enter their cosplay competition!

This is an awesome jacket which may do the trick for you...or not!! Just purchased it and the pics don't do it justice, its one of the highest quality jackets i have ever had and the colour is great. Sold out on Mr Porter but they have it here:

Alas, it will probably not flap in the wind. :))

I like it, especially the breast pocket. Has a real dressed-up q-branch feel (that's good).
