After a grotty and sh*tty and sloppy and... customer experience with Tommy Bahama, I was happy to find my Vuarnets on my porch this afternoon.
Got them when the french site had a petite and short restock and can only recommend them; very fast and very transparent with what they‘re doing in regards to your order. :007)

Now that we've seen a better pic of the shorts, they look a lot like a whitewater rafting short some outdoor technical brand like ArcTeryx would do. Or Lululemon's version of men's swim trunks. Then there's the other half of me that's saying they look like something Prada would create.
Just going with technical short theme. These are older versions of the Quicksilver Waterman Lockdown Volleys
NOT saying that's them. But if you cut off those zipper pulls you'd get something that looks a lot like this:
The more I look at those shorts the more I don't think they are swimming shorts! I've even thought they could be sailing shorts from Musto or Helly Hanson, but I can't find any matches in their current ranges.
The shorts remind me of a pair I own from last year purchased at LuLuLemon. They are cotton, non-swim trunks with a draw string waist and a side zipper. They are not the same, but I think Bond’s are something in that vein.

Odd..I thought I saw a six pack in another picture!
No doubt he always works very hard and gets very muscular but in the Bond films he does carry a bit extra around the middle. Check the walking out of the sea scene in CR and the shaving scene in SF. Add to that a funny angle, breathing out, lighting etc and it can look worse than it is. Still in great shape though. I’m about the same age and know how hard it is to get/stay in decent shape.

There were only mediums available so I pulled the trigger, I called them up and asked how many they still had in stock and they said "less than 20" I thought about placing another order and within minutes, they were sold out again. If someone is looking for one, you might check the site from time to time. Not sure why or how that happened, still awaiting delivery though. -{

I just received a black SHORT SLEEVE from Amazon. Wanted it for a proposed trip to Montego Bay, and can't see wearing long sleeves in the tropical heat! It's a beautiful shirt!

I'm telling you guys, they restocked it for a brief moment.
And for sizing, I would only go 1 size down at most, I tried on a size small in the Catalina and though it looked fine, I couldn't cross my arms without feeling like the back of the shirt was going to rip. If you want it to be slim-fit and snug, go 2 sizes down. If you want a little room for movement and a more comfortable feel, then only go 1 size down or order your normal size. A lot of it probably depends on how you like your shirts to fit. Hope that helps.

Close, but no cigar. DC‘s zipper appears to be longer and it shines, probably made of plastic.
