    I prefer the style of Craig’s first two Bond films (especially suits that actually fit), and am basically just bored with the Skyfall style that has been the standard for this decade. Billy Reid, NPeal, TF, OB are all fine brands, but there’s a lot of good stuff out there in the world of menswear that would add a new dimension. Craig is indeed calling the shots and sadly he’s just not that rakish in his sense of style.

    Hopefully a new Bond will bring some fresh concepts in the wardrobe department (especially the suits). I know this is a minority view here, but I can’t be alone in feeling this way.

    Now that my BP-sunglasses arrived I must say that they are godawful. Looking like 5$ off-the-rack wayfarers. As a collector, of course I must have them. But will they get a lot of wear? Naah ;%

    DC has much more influence than you can imagine when it comes to the style he exudes in the film....on this film it seems more than ever. Think of him as the final word in Bond wardrobe, and then some. I warrant you will see OB, Billy Reid, NPeal, TF, Omega, Crockett & Jones, and potentially something from Rag & Bone....

    Daniel Craig calls most of the shots with his own Bond wardrobe and has done so since Skyfall. It's why his Tom Ford suits in Bond 25 look almost identical to the suits in Spectre despite a different costume designer. It's why we saw Billy Reid and Brunello Cucinelli on him as Bond, and it's why we're going to see Billy Reid again. If we see Orlebar Brown again, that would now be because of their collaboration with EON. But many of the brands we saw with Jany could return for Bond 25 because Craig chose many of them himself.

    Love your input !

    Yes I already established that DC does have an influence and he certainly brings in some brands, but he doesn't run the wardrobe department. So I disagree that he selects all of the brands that appear in his movies.

    Plus As it is already obvious by now that we haven’t seen any returning brands except for TF and Omega (SO FAR) . Jany is more European in her brands, styles and fit. Suttirat is more American so more laid back and relaxed casual wear fit (check out her other movies)

    Either way, we shall see. It’s just that I feel the last two movies have raised everyone’s expectations too high in the wardrobe department. :) -{

    That explains why Craig kept switching to his personal Vuarnets.

    Had to laugh out loud when I was reading your post. I had the same feelings of the Vuarnets. That reddish brown plastic... Awful. Had to return them.

    Look out for a pair of the original 06‘s then. They are a proper dark brown, with better lens colouration and fit! I own them aswell as the SA modell and they are by far superior and great sunglasses per se! -{

    Just wish they would go back to Persol. Quality all the way.

    And one other thing - I think it would be fantastic to see a hat, maybe brief, thrown onto the coatrack in M / MoneyPenny's office, but probably not going to happen....

    Billy Reid said it was a jacket they sent to the production. I tried it on and it would have been very nice if the sizing didn't run small!

    Yesterday I received this advertisement email from Private White VC.
    Are they referring to the Tom Ford Harrington jacket in QoS or is it a hidden hint (see yellow highlight)?

    Strange that they'd list the Rat Pack before McQueen. And "It has been adorned ..."?

    For those looking to buy this shirt, here's some information that I hope will be helpful.

    Tommy Bahama is about to launch its Friends & Family sale: 25% off everything, including new arrivals.

    Today is a sneak preview day for regular customers (like me). I just used the promo code EARLYACCESS to get 25% off my black Catalina shirt, bringing the cost down to $86 USD.

    I expect the code will work for you as well. Good luck!

    The original Catalina was 100% silk. This is a stretch silk blend listed as 59% silk, 38% cotton, 3% spandex.

    It's hard for me to imagine that Tommy Bahama is going to reverse course in terms of the fabrics they're using for this shirt. They must feel that the blend is superior. And 99.9% of their customers for these shirts couldn't care less about the percentage of silk not being screen accurate to Bond 25. The look of the shirt will matter big time to casual Bond fans — not the fabric.

    The TB website advertises these as new colors, not a new design, which is another reason to think there won't be a SA re-release next year as planned. (Maybe someone here has a source, though.) But hey, people are free to wait or continue hunting on the web for the SA version.

    I'm not a collector and what matters to me is that the shirt looks cool. I just thought some here might appreciate a discount.

    Thanks for the discount code, Chevarian. I do appreciate it. -{

    I've emailed Tommy Bahama for clarification. It will be good to know if a SA version is coming in 6 months.

    I just remember the uproar when Billy Reid changed the fabric of the peacoat.

    The Bond costumers have an uncanny skill at choosing clothes that are about to be discontinued or redesigned, don't they?

    There are some minor changes, e.g. look at the shape of the pocket and the stitching at the pocket (one row vs. 2 rows)...

    ...and if I have a closer look, the collar is different too. To my eyes the new version has a slightly more spread collar. Overall stitching of the shirt looks different as well...
    But I am a fan of stretch clothing. Simply comfortable. Thanks for the discount code.

    Thanks Cheverain!

    Discount code worked like a charm! I was able to buy a white in both the new and old version so when I get it, will get the pictures posted. Of course I had to buy a black one!

    Well, what do you know! I happily stand corrected. :) :) :)

    Thanks for reaching out to them, Steve.

    Now the question for me is do I return the one I bought today? For $86 it could see me through the next 7 months.

    Thanks to Myself and Cheverian for the updates.

    I look at it this way; if DC or the costumers were shopping today for the same shirt, this is the one we’d all eventually be scrambling to buy. I’m into wearing versus collecting, and if TB views this new blend as an improvement to the durability of the piece, I’ll take it. The whole Catalina collection went this way. I took the same view with the BR peacoat revision.

    In the meantime, bring on 2020!
    I edit, therefore I am.

    This seems to be a lighter summer version of the Catalina shirt

    According to what was said before, the original %100 silk version is coming out early next year.

    So if you want to be SA, you gotta wait. If not, this is close enough
