Went through the Cucinelli lookbooks from Spring 2020 back to spring 2018 and I couldn't find a suit or blazer that's an exact match. Some of them come very close in color and overall style, but with a jetted ticket pocket. Of course that doesn't mean anything. Could be a custom suit or one of the variations of an existing suit that Cucinelli releases each season for different department stores.

Anyway, thought this would be fun for a bit of context
    James-Bond-cream-linen-suit-IG.jpg

Alot of those images were taken from The Suits of James Bond. And of course it's missing Connery's DAF suit.

If it is a linen suit, I think I'm set. An old photo for a linen suit review from a couple of years ago ...

Not an exact match, but close enough for horseshoes and hand grenades :D

I have to agree with you, AugustWalker. I have 3 pairs of the Vuarnet 06s. A pair in matte brown, matte black and the SA brown/tortoise shell pair too.

For my money the matte black look the best of the lot and the pair I wear most often. In my case I absolutely must wear sunglasses at all times due to an intractable migraine thanks to TBI (traumatic brain injury) from serving in the military. If I don't wear sunglasses even minimal ambient light will ratchet up the migraine pain exponentially. As a result I even sleep in sunglasses.

    My .02 cents.

    Regards~

Had to laugh out loud when I was reading your post. I had the same feelings of the Vuarnets. That reddish brown plastic... Awful. Had to return them.
Now that my BP-sunglasses arrived I must say that they are godawful. Looking like 5$ off-the-rack wayfarers. As a collector, of course I must have them. But will they get a lot of wear? Naah ;%

    Look out for a pair of the original 06‘s then. They are a proper dark brown, with better lens colouration and fit! I own them aswell as the SA modell and they are by far superior and great sunglasses per se! -{

    John-

Can you let us in on the maker of the linen suit you reviewed?

I like the look of it quite a bit and though I rarely wear suits these days, that suit might be one for me to stash in my closet for a nice summer's day look.

I mean, heck, I keep a tuxedo in my closet for my next black tie evening with the wife and all of my old cronies, so, why not a nice linen suit as well?

    Thanks!

    Regards~

These look pretty close for the chukka boot. Made in Italy as well.

The Drake's boot looks like a good match. And Drake's seems the kind of brand that Suttirat might bring in.

As someone who has more suede chukkas than he will ever wear in a lifetime, I am not enthused about these boots (especially the moc toes).

That said, I have to admit that I love this part of the process — seeing glimpses of a forthcoming Bond film and trying to identify everything from the boots to the speargun.

Hooray for some more brown suede chukkas :)) but with the apron it makes them a bit different.
The suit looks like a linen mix.

Bonspy: it's from a few years ago (FW 2016 I think?). So it's not available any more. But if I find others I'll let you know via PM! Sorry for derailing the thread with that!

I assume that is supposed to be Bond? Looks like the awkward, unstructured fit of a Cucinelli jacket, although it’s clearly being made worse by a harness.

Probably is DC's stuntman but looks more like a Christoph Waltz stuntman to me? Doubt Blofeld would be in Italy..?

I'm leaning towards this being Blofeld and not Bond. The hair resembles' Waltz's, and that tie is not a Bond tie. I don't see why he couldn't be in Italy. If he has escaped, he could be anywhere..

I assume this is sarcasm? I don’t think anything is “clear” from these pictures of a stunt man jumping off a bridge.

Nothing is clear from it. This stuntman was Daniel Craig's in London, so I think that's why people are saying it is Bond. But it doesn't mean he can't do stunts for other characters as well.

I'm throwing my hat in the "It's Bond" ring, for reasons that are in no way based on fact and are purely personal opinion. ;)

    1. Waltz's Blofeld doesn't strike me as a "I'll jump off a bridge to escape!" kind of character.

    2. Craig's Bond definitely strikes me as a "I'll jump off a bridge to save someone (or just cuz it's there)!" kind of character.

    3. In Craig's films, they've definitely tried to give the villains costumes that are distinctly different to Bond's costumes. Le Chiffre's all black tuxedo, Greene's and Silva's more high fashion looks, Blofeld in the Nehru jacket.

    4. This particular costume is a bit of a call back to the cream or off-white suits every Bond has worn at one time or another. And it certainly has the same feel as the SPECTRE Morocco look.

    5. It's Craig's stunt double. Who can definitely do stunts for other actors/characters. But it's a bit of an Ockham's Razor thing.

Not to mention that Daniel Craig has worn brown suede Chukkas in EVERY ONE of his Bond films.

It's clearly Bond, they even said so on the articles headliner: " James Bond plummets from a bridge in Bond 25 leaving the British spy’s survival in doubt" :)) :)) :)) :))

If it was Waltz' stunt double, wouldn't he have performance capture markers on his face for the scar, like they used on CW for SPECTRE?

    It makes perfectly sense to me -{

Now is it the jacket from Billy Reid, the one that he is wearing in the Aston Martin?

By his attitude, position of his arms on those pics, I would say that he is shot and fells from the bridge....I don't think he is jumping to save someone. What do you think?

I think Bond gets shot by Moneypenny and falls of a bridge! Now wouldn't that be a plot twister... hold on..... I'm getting a bad case of deja vu again... ?:)

David didn't feel confident to say it's 100% confirmed, but it really seems like it's the one we see in the Aston Martin. Billy Reid could only confirm that they made a jacket for the production. I really like the jacket, regardless of the Bond connection.
