Below are the official synopses for Skyfall and Spectre from the 007.com website.
I seem to remember very short synopsis were originally announced. The bits that I think are extensions, added since, I have put in quote boxes.
I wonder what synopsis we can expect for Bond25?
Skyfall
In SKYFALL, Bond’s loyalty to M (Judi Dench) is tested as her past returns to haunt her. 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.
When Bond’s latest assignment goes gravely wrong and several undercover agents around the world are exposed, MI6 is attacked, forcing M to relocate the agency. These events cause her authority and position to be challenged by Mallory (Ralph Fiennes), the new Chairman of the Intelligence and Security Committee. With MI6 now compromised from both inside and out, M is left with one ally she can trust: Bond. 007 takes to the shadows – aided only by field agent, Eve (Naomie Harris) – following a trail to the mysterious Silva (Javier Bardem), whose lethal and hidden motives have yet to reveal themselves.
SPECTRE
A cryptic message from the past sends James Bond on a rogue mission to Mexico City and eventually Rome, where he meets Lucia Sciarra (Monica Bellucci), the beautiful and forbidden widow of an infamous criminal. Bond infiltrates a secret meeting and uncovers the existence of the sinister organisation known as Spectre.
Meanwhile back in London, Max Denbigh (Andrew Scott), the new head of the Centre for National Security, questions Bond’s actions and challenges the relevance of MI6, led by M (Ralph Fiennes). Bond covertly enlists Moneypenny (Naomie Harris) and Q (Ben Whishaw) to help him seek out Madeleine Swann (Léa Seydoux), the daughter of his old nemesis Mr White (Jesper Christensen), who may hold the clue to untangling the web of Spectre. As the daughter of an assassin, she understands Bond in a way most others cannot. As Bond ventures towards the heart of Spectre, he learns of a chilling connection between himself and the enemy he seeks, played by Christoph Waltz.
I’m a bit skeptical of this. Haggis has been accused of two rapes and two other sexual assaults within the last year. A subpoena was issued just last week. I can’t see Barbara Broccoli hiring him right now.

Maybe the writing contract was signed long before all that?
BTW Haggis is a former Scientologist and an outspoken critic of that cult, which is known to go out of its way to destroy its former members.
Just to be a bit more self-indulgent. Here is my Bond25 story theory (again);
Bond is already 'rogue/on holiday' with Madeleine, a Spectre assassin tries to kill him and Madeleine. Bond kills the assassin, his only lead to find Spectre. He goes to Leiter for help to find Spectre's lair, but Leiter is captured by Spectre. Bond encounters the young MI-6 agent along the way, as she is on a parallel mission to stop some devious Spectre plot, she dies helping Bond. M is not happy with Bond about the loss of his agent. Bond is helped by Q and Moneypenny to finish the young MI-6 agent's mission and to save Leiter. Spectre captures Madeleine to blackmail Bond and the last act is Bond trying to stop Spectre and save his friend and wife, a la Dark Knight, and Madeleine dies. The Spectre lair is destroyed, Leiter lives.
I could imagine its synopsis would be;
Bond's past haunts him and he needs the help of an old ally to track down the dark forces that are threatening England and challenging a weakened MI6.

BTW Haggis is a former Scientologist and an outspoken critic of that cult, which is known to go out of its way to destroy its former members.
The first rape allegation, the one he is currently in court for, came out in 2013.
Also, Haggis tried to get the case thrown out citing the Scientology angle, but this past July a N.Y. judge threw that out and said there is enough evidence to proceed.
How early before the premiere did we get these synopses of those two movies?
BTW: You just taught me the plural of synopsis -{
Everything including title, synopsis, and cast are all confirmed on the first day of production on the press release, so with the last movies they started in december, With bond 25, i guess it should be around February to April?
Filming starts March 4th, but remember it has happened in the past, most recently with Quantum of Solace, that the press conference with all the details didn’t happen until 1 month after production began...

My guess is we'll get a start of filming press conference simply because they will want to draw a line under all the delays and set backs and have a big positive story to tell for 2019 including locations etc. I wonder how much they will emphasise that this is DC's last film?
Just 5-6 weeks if we're lucky. Exciting. I seem to remember we knew a lot more when SF and SPECTRE was at this stage. There was the Sony leaks, but still ...
I was quite active on here back in the lead up to SPECTRE and now 2019 is here, I'm excited to getting back to all of the speculation and reading all the latest rumours.
Have to admit, I'm not one of those people who avoids everything, I love the build up to a new film and as long as no big surprises are spoilt for me, I love to absorb all the latest info.
I'm excited for an official cast announcement as I think then we can speculate as to what sort of film Bond 25 will be. How many of the SPECTRE cast return will no doubt shape any potential plot.
Anyway, excited to see what the year brings and looking forward to discussing all the latest news with you all. -{
"You are about to wake when you dream that you are dreaming"
If Christoph Waltz is in the official lineup it's a big tell. If he's not he might very well be in it anyway …..
I think Waltz, the mystery woman and the main villain are the most exciting casting news we're waiting for, perhaps especially the nationality/ethnicity of the villain.
Just 5-6 weeks if we're lucky. Exciting. I seem to remember we knew a lot more when SF and SPECTRE was at this stage. There was the Sony leaks, but still ...
It's 8.5 weeks till 4 March.
We knew then about as much as we know now, for Skyfall. 8.5 weeks before its 3 November 2011 press conference; July had seen Naomie Harris rumoured to play Moneypenny along with Javier Bardem rumours. September saw Berenice Marlohe rumours, Turkey was rumoured as a location. There were Adele and Blofeld rumours. But, we wouldn't know until sometime in October that Berenice Marlohe was confirmed as a Bond girl or that Helen McRory and Ben Whishaw might be in it. Skyfall was also yet to be rumoured to be the title and Barden had not confirmed that he was the villain.
For Spectre, by the start of October, 8.5 weeks before its 3 December press conference, we knew Austria was a location, the Henchemen casting call had gone out, there was a script re-write rumour, Lea Seydoux was rumoured to be in Bond24 and Sam Smith was mentioned as a possible theme singer, the cinematographer was reported, the filming start date was announced, Morocco was another reported location, and Rhianna was a reported theme singer. But, we didn't know about Dave Batista rumours and Rome wasn't rumoured to be a location until November. November also had script rewrite rumours.
I guess we just had a Paul Haggis script polish rumour. We know the start of filming, we have Canada and Norway as location rumours. We know the director, cinematographer and 2nd unit director. Madeleine, M and Moneypenny are back but there is a question mark over Ben Whishaw's involvement. We've had Waltz and Mark Strong rumours. The other villain rumours seem to have been for Boyle's script so we can disregard those. We haven't had theme singer rumours for quite a while now.
It's the supporting characters we're waiting to hear about now, the young female MI-6 agent, the mysterious woman, the henchmen, henchwomen.
I misread Arbogast777's post. I thought it said the press conference sometimes is one month before filming starts, not after as he actually wrote. So I can really count, it's reading I have a problem with )
I'd still say we know less now than we did at this point on previous movies. We don't have any title song rumours, the only villain rumours are about one actor who say he isn't considered and one who can't because of scheduling. The only casting we know or have any good rumours about is Lea Seydoux and the Scooby Gang, and the SG can almost be taken as granted anyway. The Mark Strong rumour was from when Boyle was directing, wasn't it?
BTW: Norway as a location isn't a rumour. We know they have applied to film here, so we know they are planning to do so. This doesn't have to mean they will end up filming here, we all remember India was their prefered location for the PTS of SF and we know where that was shot. But it's not just a rumour.
I suppose it's possible Haggis took a whack at the script after Doyle left although as Arbogast noted, it seems like Hollywood has been keeping its distance from him, and Eon doesn't need Bond associated with an alleged rapist in the era of #metoo. I have to believe that Fukunaga has been doing whatever polishing needs to happen. If there are still holes in the story to be filled, it would account for the slow drip of casting and location news.
IMHO we'll have a better idea of who they might choose when the Grammy awards take place on 10 February. We have a particularly long wait on this because the singer isn't normally announced until the September before a Oct/Nov release, so it could be Christmas before we get confirmation.
the only villain rumours are about one actor who say he isn't considered and one who can't because of scheduling.
We didn't know about Javier Bardem until a couple of weeks before the press conference when he confirmed himself (he had been rumoured earlier) and Waltz was even later, with rumours only appearing in mid-November 2014 and confirmation coming from the press conference.
On SPECTRE we had two true rumours about locations, we had rumours about the main Bond girl and title song singer.,
The only members of the main cast we know are Craig and possibly Seydoux. We don't know if her character will be in Bond25 for five minutes or an hour. The mystery woman or the MI6 agent has a major role in the movie, at least it's likely IMO. Someone say they heard a drunk man who works in the casting world said Tuppence Middleton is cast, but that's a very flimsy rumour.
We only have a strong suspicion that the villan is North African, nothing more. The Mark Strong leak is from the Boyle days, we have no idea if Strong is in it now or if he ever was. I.
Do we really have rumours about Beyonce, Ed Sheerhan and Dua Lipa? All I've seen is speculations and guesswork. A rumour needs a source of some kind, even an anynomous one.

Would like the Tuppence Middleton thing to be true. Mainly because it's such a cool Bond girl name.
Of that of which we cannot speak we must pass over in silence- Ludwig Wittgenstein.

Eh? Naomie Harris has confirmed, as has Ralph Fiennes.
BTW: The Louvre in Paris has had their best year yet. Much of the reason is that Beyonce and Jay-Z made a music video there.
I think Beyonce and Bond can give each other great publisity :007)
If Bond hire Beyonce, it stinks of the "Ooh, let's see what the young people like to listen to" and I hate it. Sony made that mistake putting dubstep in Amazing Spiderman 2. That sort of thinking causes mistakes like Madonna (Young people in the 80's). I think someone known but not uber famous, like Chris Cornell was, or someone who transcends ages and generations, like Adele.
“The scent and smoke and sweat of a casino are nauseating at three in the morning. "

People of many ages like Beyonce, she's not One Direction. What's important is how she sings and carries herself, and I'm convinced she can be very Bondian. Age isn't the point at all. Many people want Dua Lipa to sing the next Bond song, and she's just 23. Adele was was 24 when she recorded Skyfall. At 37 Beyonce is old )

I disagree, I think we know about the same, give or take a fact.
Beyonce, Ed Sheerhan and Dua Lipa have all been rumoured, but there has been a deathly silence on theme song singers since the summer strangely enough. Dua Lipa has responded to the rumours and said she hasn't been asked.

He's a pal of DC's. If they wanted a good actor to be Blofeld for 2 mins in the film, if I was DC, Strong would be a good choice. He's even bald.
