Daniel Craig is actually looking really good! He and Idris could pass for the same age there. I’d still say Idris is the better-looking man, but neither look like they’re going to be ready to start a run as Bond a few years from now. Idris has so much fun toying with the media on Bond.
That link is from 2013 which doesn't feature the photo. I was unclear if it was from 2013 so I did a check. The photo of Craig and Elba is from the 2019 Golden Globes:
Elba would look younger without the beard. I think he's missed his chance anyway. Craig may cling on to the role for a few more years and Elba's beard will look like Santa Claus. Barbara Broccoli will never let 'darling Dan' leave the role!
Malik is 37. But I guess he looks very young
Toby Stephens was 33 when he was in DAD.
You could certainly have a younger villain. A young deranged genius. Malik does unhinged and "off" very well. Malik would need good henchman as he is not very physically imposing....but IMO, it's not absolutely necessary for Bond to have a knock down drag out fight with the villain. That being said, bat sh_t crazy can make up for physical prowess. The other possibility is that Malik's character is not the main or primary villain. No issue here with Malik as a Bond villain.
None of the villains in Connery's films were physically dangerous: Dr. No, Rosa Klebb, Blofeld, Goldfinger, even Largo. None would've lasted five seconds in a fight with Connery's Bond (Moore's Bond, well, that's an entirely different matter).

Klebb almost beat Connery in a fight; he wasn't the one to take her down. In the book, she beats Bond.

I'd say both look ready to make their last Bond movie, but certainly not their first.
Craig's face just expectedly looks a bit fuller now likely due to age, newborn baby stress, and occasionally drinking. He still looks great! I cant imagine he'll be SF chiseled again and it seems unreasonable to expect him to be. His jawline looked like it could cut glass in that film.

I don't think Idris Elba is a troll at all. He has said on more than one occation that he isn't James Bond and he'll never be James Bond. It's not his fault the media asks him about Bond all the time, it's the (American?) media and the Sony leaks' fault.
You do realize he’s the one who took that picture and posted it, right? And this isn’t the first time he’s used social media to stoke the flame. As Matt said, he’s toying with the media. You can call it whatever you like.
They are obviously having fun. They look pretty good together in that picture. Probably would have great chemistry.
I think Idris could play a Charles Robinson character for Craig's era, rotating Chief of Staff duties with Tanner as Colin Salmon did in the Brosnan era. That could improve the current Scooby gang vibe.
As for Craig he looks great, IMO. I really don't feel he has changed dramatically from CR, actually. It's not like comparing Sean from DN to DAF, or even Roger from LALD to AVTAK.
He maintains a consistently short hairstyle which helps. So far there hasn't been a film in which he sported longer hair like Pierce in GE or Tim's.
Obviously I'm looking forward to finally getting Bond 25 in 2020 more than any other film or TV show, but I am also pretty excited about the prospect of another season of Luther with Mr. Elba when it finally gets to the USA. Great show, and always great work by Mr. Elba with his own iconic character. Those two look to be having a good old time....may be they could do something together one of these days. I still hold out hope that EON will get around to making a film version of their very well received Broadway show, A Steady Rain, with Craig and Hugh Jackman reprising their roles or may be Elba and Craig. Probably something a bit more suited to HBO, Showtime or Netflix. With further regards to Elba, he has worked with Fukunaga previously in Beasts of No Nation. I wouldn't mind seeing him in Bond 25 as another "00" or a CIA agent or someone from Bond's past in the SBS who reunites with Bond to help him.

I agree about "Luther." Great show if you have the stomach for disturbing plot lines.
And I love the idea of Fukunaga (obviously with Eon's permission) working Elba in as another 00. It would be a great way of winking at the "controversy." And perhaps setting up the possibility of a spin-off Elba-led movie. That to me has always been the best answer to calls for a black Bond. Create a new character.

) Maybe in real life, but this is just fantasy.

Maybe his agent has been waiting to demand more money with the expectation he would win a Globe?
He is not a fine wine. Even his most ardent advocate would be unlikely to claim that he improves with age.

Check it out, you won’t be disappointed
I agree, the other pictures look better. He needs some lift in his hair. It would go a long way, I think.
The picture with Elba is pretty funny...

Agreed on all counts.

He's going to be great in B25.
Nope, can't see the resemblance )
