I wonder if that is to speed up the VFX/CGI process, they can just stream/download the daily shoots from the studio/location to the Editors and VFX houses so they can get on with the job rather than waiting for the physical film stock to be put through a laser scanner somewhere?
I would imagine keeping to the schedule is going to be a looming issue after all the delays.
Shooting digital is not surprising considering Fukunaga's penchant for long tracking shots. Also, it would appear more films are being shot in digital now than film. I wonder if they will be using the state of the art Arri 65 for Bond 25? The Arri 65 is the closest thing to large format film and has become the go to camera for many big action films and it translates very well to IMAX, Dolby Cinema and other large screen presentations.
The same MI6Community source suposedly also commented on Danny Boyle's departure from Bond25:
"Danny Boyle wanted to make radical changes to the character (he didn't get into what they were, just that the response was "yeah, no thanks."). It sounded like whatever "golden idea" was in this story (and I still believe there was a golden idea-- I just don't know what it is), the story itself was "not a James Bond" story, as was told to me today."
From all indications, there was an intriguing idea in the Boyle/Hodge script. My guess is that this idea will be severed out from most of the rest of the Boyle/Hodge script, the bad guy will be changed from Russian to something else, Purvis and Wade will write some action scenes to make up for what was deleted, and Fukunaga will give it a final gloss.
It'll be interesting to see how the screenwriting credits look.

I agree with you. I just hope the intriguing idea wasn’t just “here’s something cool ‘X’ franchise did; won’t it be so great if we do that in Bond!” I’d like to see them innovate a little bit rather than just taking pieces from other franchises and paying homage to prior Bond films. Time to break out of that cycle. I think they have a director who is capable of doing it. Craig is up to the task. But are the ideas there?
A member of MI6Community claims he has a source inside the Bond25 location team. He says there is a lot of building activity at Pinewood, Canada won't be a location, he doesn't know anything about Norway and Cádiz in Spain will stand in for Tunisia in north Africa. Cádiz stood in for Cuba in DAD. Cádiz has the same climate as Tunisia and until 1492 that part of Spain was under Moor rule, so some of the old architecture may look north African.
According to the source (real or not?) the location was moved from Tunisia to Spain because of the terrorist threat in north Africa. Spain is very cheap because of the economic depression.
Wasn't there a story about a Heineken ad filmed in Spain?
We'll know in 39 days! Thirty nine days to 4 March!
Yes, isn't it great?
I know this rumour is no more than a rumour, bit it looks likely to me. a lot of builling at Pinewood isn't bad news. When we think back some of the most iconic "locations" in Bond history were constructed at Pinewood. I don't think Cádiz will be the only location outside Britain. In a few weeks we'll know if Bond25 will get expense cuts from the Norwegian Film Institute for filming in the country. I think it will. I also hope and believe there will be more locations. I look forward to know more!
James Bond , a Norwegian fan page, says on their page: "HUGE Bond 25 news coming tomorrow! Watch this space!"
My guess is it's the list of movies from the Norwegian Film Institute or even a Clear confirmation that Norway will in fact be a location.
Okey. I'm really looking forward to see what News James Bond Magasinet has for us tomorrow! Best case scenario is if they know where in Norway Bond25 will shoot.

I think we all assume sets are being buildt in Pinewood now, but I got the feeling they are relying more on Pinewood sets than previously for CraigBond instead of haviing many locations. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if I'm wrong, though.
One thing's for sure - James Bond Magasinet usually don't use the Hashtag #Norway on Instagram, so using it in their teaser post for tomorrow's news has to mean something.

They tend to frown upon blowing up / damaging the real things )
The level of detail that goes into building the sets is quite something to behold.
B25 gets an "offer" of 47 million Krona, which is $5 million. Chicken feed when you consider the Bond25 budget is literally 50 times larger. Will EON bother?
Jamesbondmagasinet says on Instagram they can now confirm parts of Bond25 wil be shot in Norway. Let's hope it's from inside information and not just thinking "they got the grant - so they'll film here".
The expense cut grant is ment to cover a quarter of what they're planning to spend in Norway, so EON is planning to spend 20 million dollars here.

Yes, it does say offer, so there needs to be a firm decision behind this application, or Bond25 could simply say no to the offer and film in Canada.

That’s the part I’m wondering about the most. They got a $5mil grant to film, but I would love more detail on how they know they WILL be filming there...

The 47 million Kroner (Crowns) in grants is the largest sum Norwegian Film Institute (NFI) has ever given to a single project. MI: Fallout got 6 million, The Snowman got 40.5 million.
Stine Helgeland, director of international relations in NFI says "We're happy the shooting of the film with preliminary title B25 is being considered being located to Norway."
There is the word "considered", but I think the chances are very high. It would be interesting to know if 47 million Kroner was the sum EON asked for. I think it was, just because awarding them such a large sum if you know they need much more to do it makes no sense. It's of course possible EON asked for more of the total 75 million grant and NFI felt they needed to give at least some of it to other projects, but if that was the case I think it's more likely all of it to other projects. No, my guesstimate is that EON asked for ¤7 million and got it.

I think I misread someone saying the PTS as truth when it was just a suggestion. I take it back.
Morten sounded confident that Bond 25 is being filmed in Norway, and he is well connected.

$20 million. An action sequence then? PTS?
That’s the part I’m wondering about the most. They got a $5mil grant to film, but I would love more detail on how they know they WILL be filming there...
It was said the PTS is filming there.
Said by whom?
How large do we think the total filming budget of Bond25 will be?
Do we know how much earlier PTS' have cost? What did …. say, the Austria scenes in SPECTRE cost?
Together with the Lofoten area further North, this is where spectacular scenerey is most commonplace in this country.
