I don't belive the part of the story about Dakota Fanning and Emma Stone - why should they know anything about casting? I don't want them in a Bond movie anyway. I don't want American movie stars as Bond Girls. They are overexposed and it usually goes wrong, (Denise Richards, Halle Berry, Teri Hatcher). The location part of the arcticle is very detailed and sounds likely, but if they're right we'll know next week.
"As you may have known Archive 007 from London, Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz are already in the English capital because on Monday, February 4, Craig's work in the Bond 25 production begins.
Script reading, rehearsals and meetings begin next week at Pinewood, where the main sets are already built and even the second unit could already shoot something for the film from this Wednesday." (Google Translate)
Perhaps Dubrovnik was for the Hodges script? We don't know.
The first time he floated it was the summer of 2017, more than six months before Boyle/Hodges got involved. It's too bad because I like Bond in Eastern Europe.
So it was in Purvis/Wade's first script outline. Can one speculate that the scene was moved from Croatia to Italy? Or perhaps Dubrovnink is still in? I doubt it, though.

Why next week?
Because the article about the Italian location claims official confirmation will come in a few days.

I have grave doubts about this article. Searching, not a single Italian publication has followed up this story. How difficult is it to call the town hall and ask?
As for mentioning Emma Stone and Dakota Fanning. Stone was in Fukunaga's Maniac and Fanning his The Alienist (https://www.indiewire.com/2017/11/the-alienist-trailer-cary-fukunaga-tnt-1201899868/). It's just lazy fake news journalism to throw in the names of actresses the director has worked with. I could imagine Dakota Fanning as the young MI6 agent, but I still think it's fake news.

I can't explain this. We see the same thing here i Norway. The local Rjukan Arbeiderblad newspaper printed the story about location hunting, the local internet radio followed it up, then ……. nothing. Perhaps national media don't read enough local news, at least not journalists covering movies? Perhaps local media know they can trust their sources while national media has never heard of them?
Perhaps the stories are made up? I can't know. I'm nearly convinced the Rjukan location scouts story is true and I'm almost convinced the Emma Stone/Dakote Fanning story is made up. We'll see.

I have lingering doubts about any article like this, but at the same time, it’s really not that newsworthy of a story that national media would necessarily be interested in it. Movies and TV are shooting somewhere every day.
This article also says the press conference is at the end of February. Another Sheldrick claim?
No. That's from our source in London.
28 February is a Thursday. Start of filming, 4 March, is a Monday. It is true that DC's movies' press conferences have been towards the end of the week - see below. I do know that companies used to send out press releases on Thursdays to catch the weekend newspapers as well as Friday's, but in the age of the Internet, does that matter anymore?

If Bond25's press conference date follows this pattern, it could be on any day from Wednesday 27 February to Friday 1 March.

I don't know. Movies and TV are shooting somewhere every day in the UK and North America, and to a lesser extent I guess that's true in Italy. If a big budget foreign movie is (partly) filmed here, it's in the national newspapers. When Bond25 got the grant last week it was primetime news on the main TV-channel. There might be reports about Bond location scouting in other local media and national media hasn't picked up on that either. I only read my own local newspaper. Most likely the location scouts aren't noticed by most local media, but in Rjukan they knew them from "The Snowman" in 2016.
Wouldn't surprise me if EON is leaking information, be it false or accurate, to create some buzz leading up to a big press conference later this month or in the beginning of March. They have done a much better job this time around (especially considering the mess with Boyle) of controlling information and limiting damage. It also doesn't hurt that they don't have Amy Pascal venting and yammering on in emails.

I find it hard to believe EON are deiberately leaking false information to to create Buzz. I'm sure they don't mind it when the net and media are making headlines and posting wrong things about Bond25, but I think they better than spreading false information.
So far today this thread has had 12 posts. In the same time the Bond25 thread over at MI6Community has covered more than four pages )
I think even the MI6community knows they have gone completely off the rails, but I find it strange that there is so little activity here. For years we have speculated, discussed, joked and hoped about Bond25 in untold numbers of posts, but when we are (almost) there it seems like most of us can barely bother to look at the forum. Why?

I only speak for myself but...
I’ve found this forum to have gotten to be a bit much. It’s gotten to the point where having to go through all the posts has become a chore and not fun.
I also fear that following a movie as closely as some here do can lead to burnout and I want to avoid getting to the point where I have followed Bond 25 for so long that by the time it comes I am so familiar with it that I feel like I’ve seen the movie before the gunbarrel even starts.
To be honest, for my Bond 25 fix I’ve moved away from forums and over to Instagram. If a piece of news hits, a prop or piece of clothing identified, or a pic of filming comes to light, I’ll be notified by one of the pages I follow. Otherwise I let my mind move onto other things.
A good post with good points. I can't really argue against what you wrote. What I wonder about is if many otehrs feel the same. I suspect some do, but there are many reasons out there.
I just can't be bothered. I scroll through this topic once in a while to see if there is any real news. So far it is mostly speculation upon speculation. The way things are discussed here isn't my cup of tea so I refrain from responding myself. When there is some real news to report, like a title or a press conference announcement, my interest might be spiked a bit more. However, the 5 year gap between the last movie and Bond 25 doesn’t really help to keep my interest levels high.

I totally agree. Perhaps we need a new thread for concrete news only.
I feel the other way. There wasn't much point really in discussing casting a couple of years ago, but now we know more about locations and what characters they're cast it gets more interesting. We don't know much yet, but we know enough to talk about it.
Speaking of locations: You're located in Delft. Is that really you and your tractor in your profile photo? Is that really Delft? Iæve been driving a tractor since I was I kid, but I haven't really done any ploughing until this winter.
And you are free to do so, you seem to really enjoy discussing this subject. However, I am always on a very thin line between "wanting to know everything because it is Bond" and trying to stay spoiler free. Those two things are hard to combine. I am curious to hear some official news but apart from that I don't have much to add to this topic. I just prefer discussing other things Bond than a movie that hasn't been made yet.
Regarding the question about my profile picture, no that isn't Delft. I wished we had that much snow here in winter. I came across it some years ago when looking for a profile pic. It reminded me of the scene in OHMSS.
I too worry about knowing too much going into the cinema, but I find that if I don't read leaked scripts and that sort of thing I'm OK. But just as I'm free to do that, you're free to stay away from rumours and news about upcoming Bond movies.
Yes, I found it strange that the Netherlands would have that much snow. Even though Europe gets a lot of snow now and people skated on the canals back in the olden days.
Also, because I don't post as often on this forum, I sometimes have the feeling that the discussion has passed me by, by the time I log in again after posting a reply. So, don't get me wrong, I am really looking forward to Bond 25 and enjoy reading the conversations between all the incredibly knowledgeable people on this forum. It is just difficult to stay Onnatop things when a discussion takes off.
Understandable. Delft looks like a beautiful place. Continenetal Europe has so many beautiful towns and cities that could be Bond locations. Norway is blessed with a lot of nature, but most of our towns are unremarkable architectually speaking.

Always good for some tourism generating publicity, even if not true.
Same goes for Matera, Italy.

Only time will tell.
Let's see somewhere else please.
Dubrovnik sounds good.
Or perhaps Sri Lanka?

Rachel Weisz is nominated in the supporting actress category, so one assumes that DC will be with her.
Other Bond actors could be on the red carpet too. Ralph Fiennes and Naomie Harris were there last year. And could Lea Seydoux turn up?
Linus Sandgren, Bond25 cinematographer, is nominated for best cinematographer for First Man. Will Fukunaga be with him for moral support?
Rami Malek is nominated for best actor. Lady Gaga is nominated for leading actress and original music. Emma Stone is nominated for supporting actress.
