Looking at his IMDB history, he's written for Stephen Soderbergh twice, and his favoured topics do seem to be corporations and government's abusing their powers. He wrote Bourne Ultimatum, a film about corrupt pharmaceuticals and a film about CIA torture.

At this point an April 5 start date seems just as likely as anything else. If the script really is being overhauled (and that report does seem credible), I doubt they’d start shooting in two weeks. I don’t even need to know a guy who has a girl who pet a cat at Pinewood to figure that out. ;)

Yeah, we could really use some positive news from good sources this week :#

MI6-hq.co.uk has tweeted that filming starts 5 April. There is no corresponding story and there is no indication in the tweet of what the source is for this date. MI6-hq.co.uk usually knows what its talking about, but maybe they are just repeating the MI6 community comments.

A good observation. He also seem to write a range of generes, but he favours thrillers. That's promising.

    2 thoughts:

    1) Regarding the Scott Z. Burns news - if the report of his involvement is true, the story did not give a date. For all we knew he finished his 4 week revision in January and we are only just finding out about it.

    2) The Pinewood source said “she has access to Pinewood’s schedule and confirmed to me that shooting on Bond 25 begins April 5th.” That can be saying that filming is still starting March 4, but moving for work at Pinewood April 5th. The date comes from Pinewood’s schedule, not the movie’s schedule. There’s nothing saying shooting must start at Pinewood.

    What The Playlist 16 February article (https://theplaylist.net/exclusive-scott-z-burns-bond-25-20190216/) actually says is;
The filmmaker is now in London and will be spending at least 4 weeks rewriting the ‘Bond 25’ script for what I’m told is a king’s ransom sum.
    (Emphasis added)

So, we know it's a minimum of four weeks and he hadn't started yet. The 16 February was a Saturday so he may have arrived in London that weekend and would start on the Monday just gone. Burns could be writing until 18 March or even right up to the new rumoured 5 April filming start date.

On the Pinewood schedule, good point, but other than the early Siena, Italy filming for Quantum don't they normally start with interior filming at Pinewood?

Not necessarily. Dr No filmed in Jamaica first and then finished at Pinewood.

I think the reality we must all accept is that if Burns is unable to produce a version of the script that the principals are happy with, then we are looking at further delay. Here’s hoping he’s up to the task.

Just checked imdb, its been a while. Last time i checked there wasn't so many people on the full cast list, now there was a whole lot more, is it starting to shaping up now? And also looks like a lots of new people this time, for instance it looks like its gonna be quite a different stunt team? didn't Craig have some regulars? Anyone know whats happening in that area?

I just read the article in comicbook.com/movies. Most of it is a rehash of what is already out there, both confirmed and rumor.
A working title of "Shatterhand" is not a reach and would not surprise me. The real question would be whether the working title has any connection to the plot of Bond 25?

If it’s even a real working title, it was probably chosen because that’s what the media has been suggesting for the title and they want to throw people off.

Good point. When you hear Shatterhand one can't help but having thoughts of The Garden of Death, etc.

Know that Production Weekly has been using Shatterhand for B25 since last summer...

    And Baz also says;

    1. The Emma Stone rumour is nonsense.
    2. Scott Burns is "halfway through" the Bond25 script.
    3. All the Scooby gang are back, and Madeleine.
    4. Moneypenny may have an expanded role.

As The Playlist got the exclusive on Burns work on the script and their article clearly indicates he had not started yet the idea that Burns is already halfway through a script seems unlikely. Or maybe four weeks in London comes after some period in the US with the script?

I still think Ben Whishaw's situation is opaque. He has had plenty of chances to say he is in Bond25 and he hasn't, while Fiennes and Harris have.

Will we finally see Bond in sub-Saharan Africa in Bond25 with Lupita Nyong'o? Is that why Moneypenny would have an expanded role?

"If it’s even a real working title, it was probably chosen because that’s what the media has been suggesting for the title and they want to throw people off. "

That's my thoughts. It reeks of them scouring the forums. Although I think it's quite likely given what Spectre is leading into, a revenge mission. My problem is an OCD one: How three S-titles in a row will look on the shelf. Fans could call it the S-trilogy.

Another problem I had is that Oberhauser just established himself as Blofeld, so he's changing his name again? If they use it, it should just be the name of a laser satellite or something.

I think that after they dealt with a special 50th anniversary original title, and reintroduced Spectre, that they would go back and finish off the Fleming Titles and expanded titles or at least the usable ones. (Property of a Lady and 007 in New York are unusable. Fleming would've come up with better titles if he'd lived to see them in book format). I don't think we'll see another original title like Skyfall for awhile.

My theory, is Gardner's License Renewed - for four reasons. For One, it fits with Bond quitting the service or going on hiatus at the end of Spectre. For two, it's synonymous with EON re-licensing the movie to a new production company. For three, it would allow for the dreaded rumor that Bond is killed off, so that James Bond becomes a codename for his replacement. For four, Spectre is leading up to License to Kill parallels - Blofeld needs to be broken out of prison like Sanchez, and there can even be a wedding opening, only Bond and Madeleine instead of Felix. Unfortunately you know what that means.

So my top guesses are Shatterhand, License Renewed, Hildebrand Rarity and Risico

The real worry is that at this stage of the game they are so far away from a completed script. The title is less of a worry, as long as it's not a stinker like QOS or lazy e.g. Spectre I don't care much. Just hope they can avoid scripting on the hoof.

We are six weeks from the new alleged filming start date of 5 April.

Six weeks before Spectre started filming we learnt Lea Seydoux was the Bond girl and Dave Bautista was a villain.

    https://screenrant.com/bond-24-villain-dave-bautista/

Christoph Waltz would not be confirmed until mid-November.

Six weeks before Skyfall started filming we learnt that Javier Bardem would be the villain, Berenice Marlohe was a Bond girl and the title was Skyfall.

Interesting the Daily Mail calls Skyfall, 'troubled'.

It’s not easy to sing ‘Shat....

Believe me I tried, it also precedes Hand, not ideal to say the least from a songwriter perspective..

I doubt that Hughes is doing a script from scratch. It's probably a revision, which should take 1-2 months, which isn't a problem if he's halfway done.

The problem is that there are numerous script writers for Bond 25, the same as Spectre and that worked out poorly for Spectre.

Yeah, too many cooks for SPECTRE, which is why its weakest moments felt flabby, unfocused, and lazy.

Also Purvis and Wade, while connected to a lot triumphs, are still too hit 'n miss, and spent far too much time with the Bond franchise now.

The number of script writers concerns me far less than the timing. One gets the sense that despite the long lay off, they waited too long to begin working on Bond 25 in earnest. They’ve pushed the release date twice, yet they still seem to be jammed up against a deadline they may struggle to meet. It’s just inexcusable. And there’s plenty of blame to go around. Craig took too long to commit. EON showed no sense of interest or urgency. Purvis & Wade are obviously played out. Boyle should’ve never signed on in the first place; as his comments from years ago indicate, he knew the rules.

On the flip side, Fukunaga is probably innocent. His only discernible fault is being foolish enough to sign onto this mess, but given where things stood when he arrived, he will probably be absolved from all blame if the movie is poor. And if it’s good, he will be (rightly) lauded for his efforts.

#Shatterhand is now trending on Twitter as the story of the working title appears to have hit the public airwaves.

Quite interesting seeing people pass judgement on the title with no understanding of the history of it haha

If they intend to tell that story (grain of salt, naturally!), I’d much prefer The Death Collector for a title...three single-word titles in a row - all beginning with an ‘S’ - seems a bit trite.

But then, I never thought they’d do two in a row :s
