I doubt it will blow up sky high, partly because it's in a nature preserve and partly because I suspect they have something special in mind (see post 4.020)
N24, how much longer will there be snow in that area of Norway? Come early April (if this construction is for B25 filming that is) what will the area look like?
This is a link With a graph showing weather statistics for the village Hakadal Verk, half a mile from the location. It looks like the snow will be gone by about April 20.
I doubt it will blow up sky high, partly because it's in a nature preserve and partly because I suspect they have something special in mind (see post 4.020)
I noticed the large glass windows it has, nice to throw people through. Hopefully a fight sequence smashing up the inside of the house before Bond or the assassin(s) are thrown through the windows. Or vehicles crash through them.
Snowmobiles, perhaps? The stuntman who has posted a couple of times on Instagram (I can't remember his name) is an expert on vehicles. A snowmobile can run on snow, open water and even inside houses.

You could be onto something. There was that photo the stunt team posted of someone being thrown off something, maybe he could be going through that window.
Scott Burns has been talking to EON for months (since December probably) about coming onboard.
"They're [EON] backs are against the wall."
"They're shooting soon."
If the Burns script is completely new, there is no way they are starting in April. But, he knows Burns is writing something that is based on Purvis & Wade work.
"My guess is a lot of the set pieces [action scenes] for this film are already built and done."
Perez does not know why Fukunaga does not appear to have had his own idea, adding that Fukunaga usually has rewrites on his projects.
They speculate that Fukunaga would not have signed up to an idea/script that he did not like.
Perez speculates that there could be further filming and/or release date delays if Burns script is not well received.
Perez knew about Burns/EON contact for months, but only chose to write the story when the Bond25 release date was put back.
Burns rewrote Bourne Supremacy and wrote Bourne Ultimatum. Rewrites are not uncommon in Hollywood.
Perez is aware that killing Bond off was in the mix at some point, he doesn't say it was purely Boyle's idea. He says he likes the idea.
Jack and a lady in an isolated cabin in a snowscape, open fire, fur rugs etc, they go out for a walk and come under attack.
Or it could be like the Netflix film Polar with Mads Mikklesen where the protagonist (a former hitman) gets attacked at a lake cabin.
BTW, Polar's pretty good, although definitely R rated.
Well protagonists in snow in bond films is a bit of a thing.
Never seen Polar, is it R rated for violence or sex or what?
It's for the violence.
I liked the film a lot and Mads plays a great part as the washed up assassin. Similar to the Charles Bronson in the "Mechanic" there's always someone after you, and a squad of younger assassin's are sent after him.
To me they are a bit "Wackey Races" and one of the girls reminds me of Penelope Pitstop. Don't let that put you off I really enjoyed it with a few twists and turns along the way. Well worth a watch thats for sure. Mads is excellent!!
So the release date for the Kingsman prequel, Kingsman: The Great Game, has just been moved from November 15th this year to B25's previous release date of Feb 14 2020. Will that have an affect on B25, no clue at this stage.
I'm coming to think that there must be multiple scripts in an EON vault for Bond25.
Purvis & Wade were announced on 24 July 2017 with EON saying Bond25, "will be written by Neal Purvis and Robert Wade," and most would have imagined that they would have produced a script. http://www.007.com/bond-25-announcement/
25 May 2018 EON announce that Boyle is on-board for Bond25 and that it would have, "an original screenplay by Academy Award nominee John Hodge". http://www.007.com/bond-25-announcement-2/
By May, P&W had had at least 11 months to produce a script.
21 August EON announced that Boyle was no longer directing Bond25. Hodge would have appeared to have had four months to produce a script, which was then, in part, the cause for Boyle's departure - whether you believe it was over the plot point of killing off Bond or the choice of actor for the Russian villain. http://www.007.com/bond-25-announcement-3/
14 September 2018 Baz Bamigboye reports that Purvis & Wade are drawing up a script from their original Bond25 treatment. Did P&W really only produce a treatment (a novel like description of a film generally ten or more pages long) during those 11 months preceding Boyle joining, or did they produce a script as well as a treatment? Treatments are usually written before a script as part of the script making process. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-6166379/Spymaster-writing-duo-rescue-new-Bond-film-director-Danny-Boyle-walked-out.html
20 September 2018 EON announces that Cary Fukunaga has joined as director. http://www.007.com/bond-25-announcement-4/
He is an accomplished writer with film credits to his name as well as TV. EON does not state in its announcement who is writing Fukunaga's script. By this time, P&W had had a month to work on their new post-Boyle script, based on their treatment.
Was Fukunaga's script going to be this post-Boyle script Baz Bamigboye wrote about or a new script from an idea of Fukunaga's or a script based on the pre-Boyle P&W treatment with Fukunaga's input?
16 February The Playlist reports that, "Sources close to the project tell us that Scott Z. Burns...has been hired to rewrite the ‘Bond 25’ script by Neal Purvis and Robert Wade. It’s an overhaul..." So it would seem that Fukunaga was apparently working from the P&W treatment script reported by Bamigboye, but maybe it was a version with Fukunaga's input? https://theplaylist.net/exclusive-scott-z-burns-bond-25-20190216/
So, we have a P&W original script possibly written between July 2017 and May 2018, we have John Hodge's script, we then have a post-Boyle P&W script, and then possibly another P&W script produced with Fukuanaga, and based on the P&W treatment, and then there is the Scott Burns 'overhaul'. Five scripts.
So the release date for the Kingsman prequel, Kingsman: The Great Game, has just been moved from November 15th this year to B25's previous release date of Feb 14 2019.

Oops, corrected it now...I don't think my mind wanted to believe next year is 2020, five whole years after Spectre's release
Just saw a new picture of Craig doing rehearsals for the Oscars. He looks pretty good. My only complaint is the hair is short again. I was rather hoping they would go with a longer cut like he had in that Heineken commercial that aired when Spectre came out.

Thanks for sharing that. Of course it's mostly speculation at this point. Whatever Burns has been tasked with doing, hopefully he can get it done within the timeframe he was given and it meets expectations. Like you said, rewrites and script polishes are not uncommon. If you go by "Some Kind of Hero" they are very common with Bond films...it's just that they typically happened during the normal time frame between films and did not create delays. Bond 25 has had a difficult gestation with Craig taking his time to decide whether he would return which probably put EON in some form of limbo, going from the P&W script to the Boyle/Hodge script to Boyle leaving and Fukunaga coming on board and back to the P&W script and now another delay with Burns being brought in.
What we don't clearly know is, what came first, the chicken or the egg? Did EON jump on the opportunity that the availability of the Easter release date presented to both get Burns on board for a polish or rewrite plus a better release date or were they so uncomfortable with the script that another delay was inevitable? A lot of the speculation in the "media" has been that the script was really bad and desperately in need of a rewrite and of course that's the more dramatic, click baiting take on things vs of course EON's PR that everything is rosey, just got a better release date stuff. Personally, I don't mind waiting another two months if the outcome is a very good Bond film.

Wonder if we'll ever see a return
From the 007 theme by John Barry
Which was first included in FRWL, Thunderball
& i believe its last appearance was Moonraker.
Im sure its unlikely but it would be a nice nod.
Imagine like half way through bond 25
Theres a awesome action scene and
It kicks into full swing.
I recently heard someone say how it wouldnt work
But i actually heard it in the recent Trainspotting 2 which was directed by danny boyle & written by john hodge.
Before they were announced for bond 25.
I thought it worked well, imagine david arnold, or michael giacchino recreating it.
Besides more or less all of Barrys scores are timeless
Think Out of Africa, Dances with wolves most of Bond.
Except maybe OHMSS with the moog, which is still ahead of its time in my book.
Also the drum machine in TLD.
These are however still great.
The newspaper Aftenposten has interviewed an old lady who is the closest neighbour to the filming location in Langvann, Norway. Some interesting things are mentioned in the article:
- People from TrueNorth has been seen in the area and a member of that company is listed as the contact for the local authorities. TrueNorth are currently working on Bond25 for EON.
- Filming is likely to take place during much of March, and everything must be gone by the time the birds in the forrest hatch their eggs. Some types of eagle, hawk and owl lay their eggs in late March and early April.
- The production has leased her barn. (probably means nothing, but ….)
- Large parts of the ice-covered lake has been cleared of snow and cordoned off. (I suspect there will be a scene on the lake)
- Rumours say the cabin will be blown up in the Movie,
Just saw a new picture of Craig doing rehearsals for the Oscars. He looks pretty good. My only complaint is the hair is short again. I was rather hoping they would go with a longer cut like he had in that Heineken commercial that aired when Spectre came out.
All it confirms is that Craig at 50 has some grey hair. By the time filming hopefully commences in April we will know whether or not we get a grey Bond. We will get a bit of a better idea of how Craig will look this time around at the Academy Awards broadcast as he will be wearing some make up. From this most recent photo, his face looks thinner than it did in the photos from the Knives Out set.
At least Craig appears to be getting into Bond shape....hopefully the screenplay is too.
Satelite photo of the area from Google Earth. The cabin is being buildt on narrow strip of land between the Langevann lake (to the south) and the road, near where the words "Oslo" and "Akershus" are.
He looks fine, grey hair not a problem just wish he had a more flattering cut. He just looks tiny and insignificant next to Charlize Theron who looks more formidable than he does. Should have busted out those lifts...but overall not the disaster some of us feared.
Of that of which we cannot speak we must pass over in silence- Ludwig Wittgenstein.

Should they actually go that route.

Both. And it's a hard R.
