For Skyfall and Spectre there was a gap of 5 and 10 days, respectively, between the teaser poster drop and the teaser trailer drop. For both of these films, the BBFC teaser trailer decision was published before hand.
Skyfall's teaser poster came out 17 May 2012 and was announced on 007.com https://www.007.com/skyfall-poster-revealed/
That announcement also announced when the teaser trailer would drop: "The teaser poster for the 23rd James Bond film SKYFALL was released worldwide today. The first trailer for SKYFALL will be released here on 007.com on Monday 21st May at 8.30am BST"
Spectre's teaser trailer came out 27 March 2015. For the Spectre teaser, the BBFC decision was 18 March 2015, 10 days before. https://bbfc.co.uk/releases/spectre-2015
So, based on that, the NTTD teaser may drop on Wednesday 9 October or Monday 14 October.
If NTTD's teaser trailer is following the Spectre timing, we may see a BBFC decision tomorrow as the Spectre trailer decision came a day after the poster reveal.
The poster is interesting. In the typical Bond poster, Bond looks cool, confident, and dangerous (he's always armed).
In this poster he looks wary, maybe a little a little scared. He is unarmed. Bond is typically found in luxury resorts, hotels, and casinos. Here, he looks like he's in a poor part of town.
A different kind of Bond poster. Maybe Bond 25 will be a different kind of Bond movie.

Or, you know, two time points don't indicate a pattern, and this teaser poster dropped solely because it was James Bond day, so it's a different scenario to Skyfall/Spectre.
A member of the Other Place suggested a photo of Bond with the spear gun in the Bahamas would be better, or even just a photo of the speargun on the beach. I agree that could have been better. It would stand out more.
I’m not bowled over by the official teaser poster, a nice shot but as some have said not poster material.
My guess is that Craig’s not in a tux very much in this movie and this shot was one of the better stills where he was looking the full James Bond. Unfortunately much of the general public still equate the tux with Bond, so going with a tux shot was the way to go...

Assuming this is a Cuba scene, wearing a dinner jacket is wrong for two reasons:
1. It's much to hot to wear a jacket
2. Your status as a "secret agent" would be immediately blown because no one there can afford a dinner jacket (notwithstanding the fact that he's a white guy would also draw attention )

1. It wouldn't be the first time Bond wore a dinner jacket in the tropics (or a place like Cuba). I haven't been to Cuba, but I have worn suits on many occasions in Naples, FL, which has the same Koppen climate classification as Havana and comfortably survived. So it is not too hot to wear a jacket. The Tom Ford dinner suit that Bond is wearing on the poster is very lightweight and breathable.
2. Culturally it may be out of place, but Bond may not be a "secret agent" when he's in Cuba. Bond may be retired at this point. Who knows why he's wearing it? And since when has Bond dressed to blend in with locals?

All great points, as always!
It's just an observation I made. I've been to multiple Caribbean islands and I've lived in South Florida. I understand Koppen climate, but when you've actually stood in those locations you feel the heat beating down on you much more so than in the continental US. Which brings me to another thought: the black TB shirt. While a nice, lightweight, breathable fabric, that color absorbs the sun so much more intensely in Jamaica. They were shooting in late April/early May, right? I've been there at that time and the heat is very strong in the middle of the day.
However, this is all moot when we see how it looks on screen and with context.

The dinner suit pictured here wouldn't be worn during the middle of the day, so heat beating down on you isn't so much of a concern. The black shirt could be a concern with the sun, and I agree that it's not a great choice for daytime. I could imagine how bad that would be in South Florida, and in Jamaica it could be even worse!
There is a VERY long tradition of characters in films wearing clothes because they look cool, not because they're appropriate for the weather or climate. Case in point going back to 1981 - Indiana Jones' magical leather jacket. Light enough that he can wear it in the sunny, hot desert or a humid sweltering jungle, but warm enough that he can wear it during a snowstorm in Nepal...
Fans outraged by the new poster! I eagerly read it, thinking there might be some mention of good ol' AJB. Nope. . .every single comment is from Twitter. Sigh: I'm old enough to remember when the outrage over Craig's casting made news, AJB and the other sites were prime news sources. Of course, Twitter didn't exist back then, but, still. . .

The teaser poster IMO is disappointing and nothing special, but in this day and age of Twitter, Instagram, etc people love to express their outrage over even the most inconsequential things in the most overwrought ways they can conjure up. I would have to say that the folks who post here, albeit generally very disappointed, have been relatively even keeled about the poster. EON's marketing people generally know what they are doing.... I'll be interested to see what it looks like full size and backlit in a theater lobby.
Is anyone really surprised by the lackluster poster? I've said before how poor all of the Daniel Craig posters are in the past. It's no surprise at all with this new teaser poster. But this sort of thing is what works to get the larger modern audience in theaters. Just a big picture of the main actor.
What is surprising is that the James Bond series is known for some of the best illustrated posters in movie history. Yet we can't even get an illustrated teaser poster for Daniel Craig's movies.
At least there is unofficial fan art. Which is way better than what we are getting officially.

Because hand drawn art was killed by computers so we get lazy simplistic photo ops of Bond standing with gun in hand. No one is crazy about those, but at least Bond was confident instead of confused, and at least he was holding a gun.
I was so pissed by the first teaser poster that today I took a few hours off and made my own version. Same idea - just a photo and a logo, tell me how you like it. -{

Avengers Endgame had several hand drawn posters, so we still get the occasional hand drawn poster for big budget movies.
While I've enjoyed Craig's bond films (to varying degrees), I hope for more tranditional films from the next Bond actor. Hand drawn posters is one of the traditions I want back.

I like it. Much more 'engaged' looking Bond.
