I think tom Jones would sound better with that particular song, it’s ok but it’s not very catchy or hooky, I’ll tell you this though, if the official song does go by the name of ‘no time to die’ it better be good..

..I’ll be soooooo tempted to do a better version.. ..watch this space..

It will also be the first Bond film to be held in the year that end with the number 0!

    2020

I still find it crazy, even now, that they released Casino Royale in November 2006, two months before 2007. Have to wonder what the marketing department were thinking there. Christmas sales I guess?

You assume they put thought into the decision?

Most of the Bond films were released in an odd-numbered year. It had switched patterns in 2002.

Spectre was the recent Bond film to be release in an odd-numbered year. So, 17 of them in odd years and 8 of them in even numbered years.

And just what I said, that NTTD would be the first Bond film to be released in a year that ends with a 0. That is unique!

Bond movies used to be released during the Summer season until 1989. Of course, Bond movies have a hard time competing in the Summer. So far, only 2 Bond films were released in the 2010s!

I think CharlesRobinson was referring to the fact that 2007 would have been a great year to release a Bond film, given the marketing opportunity.

Are those trousers skiing trousers or part of some type of tactical uniform?
And what are the wheels behind him? Perhaps the machinery on a cable car or ski lift?
Is it part of a scene set, but probably not shot, in Norway that we don't know about?

Could Bond be wearing the same type of uniform as Nomi is wearing here, just without the jacket and west?

    lashana-lynch-nomi-007.jpg

The belt looks like a gun belt for some heavy sidearm, possibly a HK MP7 just like Nomi is carrying.
Anyway, I think many are reminded of Lazenby escaping from Piz Gloria when they look at the pic of Craig.

Well, I don't know the answers to those questions but we have people here who do. Let's hope they see this thread and respond.

The weapon Nomi is carrying in that pic is an amalgamation of chopped up stunt weapons.

Nice to see something official. Both DC and Nomi look badass. Looks like we may get the raid many of us having been wishing for?
Principal photography officially completed on 10/25. 184 days not including 2nd unit work. Taking into consideration that I have been avoiding the "spoilers" thread here, I have to say this is the most clamped down Bond production in the Craig era. We did get more of our share of "bad shade" and troubles during pre-production but things look to have been pretty smooth sailing other than Craig's injury and a demolitions mishap at Pinewood. I actually like the idea of knowing very little other than bare bones plot and locations. EON was smart this time around. They went into filming with a real dark cloud over their heads of a "doomed" production and I think they understood that any leaks would be twisted into doom and gloom by the tabs and have avoided that for the most part since.
  • Number24Number24 NorwayPosts: 22,313MI6 Agent
    I agree, HowardB.
ASP9mm: the gun is probably a stunt weapon like you say, but it's meant to be a mp7 right?

I hope and try to belive the trailer will be released for Terminator: Dark Fate (Nov 1st), Ford v Ferrari (Nov 15th). Those are the big releases in November in the right age group and generes I can see.

Someone (not the member) suggested the official photo could be showing a mine of some sort and not a ski lift. Could be.
  • Asp9mmAsp9mm Over the Hills and Far Away.Posts: 7,533MI6 Agent
It’s not just a stunt weapon, it’s a few stunt weapons Bond uses that have been cut up and parts used to make a stand in weapon for that scene. It was a bodge it and make do job for that particular mornings shoot.

I've seen Dark Fate (not in the UK) and there is no NTTD teaser attached.

I speculated on this in the spoiler thread.
In those early Spectre drafts, a diamond mine in Africa was part of the plot. An early Spectre draft also had Bond and Q escape a mine collapse.

And one local Italian newspaper photographed what appeared to be a mock African village.

    As for your earlier request:
Can Someone give us some numbers on when the first trailers have been released in relation to wrapping days?

The teasers were out for Casino and Spectre before filming ended. Spectre wrapped 5 July and the full trailer was out 22 July.

    https://mi6-hq.com/news/index.php?itemid=11789

Casino wrapped 15 August, 200 days after a 27 January start. Casino Royale's 1m 15sec teaser trailer came out 4 May 2006. The trailer was out 7 September, about five weeks after filming wrapped.

    https://www.mi6-hq.com/news/no-time-to-die-completes-principal-photography-today-191026?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter

Skyfall's teaser came out two days after filming wrapped, the film's full trailer came out 2 months later on 31 July.
    https://www.mi6-hq.com/news/index.php?itemid=10191

Mid-June filming finish for Quantum. The teaser came out 30 June. The full trailer came out about four weeks later, on 28 July 2008.
    https://www.mi6-hq.com/news/index.php?itemid=6403

Based on Skyfall and Quantum, the NTTD teaser should be imminent, and the full trailer could be out by the first week of December or Christmas.

I've enjoyed all the movies. I'm not precious about this or that.

What Dark Fate does make you think is, what a waste it has been not focusing on John Connor. I always thought Terminator Salvation missed an opportunity just to focus on Connor after T2 and to relegate the Terminator to the army he is fighting.

While it is a good shot of Bond (and his clothes of course—this is AJB) and yes any news about the film...within reason...is good news, I'm pretty underwhelmed at this production sanctioned "Exclusive!!!!" and the picture. Okay yes it is from an official publication but just looks like one of the Empire reporters on set for a story snuck a quick pic with their phone when nobody was looking. Nothing too different from the spy shots we've seen so far, it's just that this one gets a well known magazine's logo in the corner. Was expecting another official pic like the one of Bond in a suit strolling around London when I saw this news.

Teaser will probably come out in Nov, trailer in Feb.
Been a while since we've seen Bond bleeding. At least he is being put through the ringer. Spectre was mostly vehicle stunts with no vehicle combat and auto-aim shootouts. Made me miss the brutal hand-to-hand of Craig's first two.

Some of the old posters can be seen as sexist and I don't think there can be Bond posters like that again.
But I think TLD was the last had drawn bond poster as far as i remember. I don't think it's sexist.

    affiche-tuer-n-est-pas-jouer-the-living-daylights-1987-7.jpg

Here is an example of a current hand drawn poster, so I think there's no reason Bond shouldn' have one:

    e0afd1ce50f5c6744507b2cc40f59f61.jpg

There can never be posters like that again? We are living in a relatively recent moral panic where the female anatomy is seen as sexist. There's no reason to suspect western society will think the same way even 5 years from now. In the dark ages, the catholic church censored the human anatomy and in the renaissance people were **** all over the sisteen chapel. In the 1800s women were considered sluts if you saw their ankles, and that led to can can girls. So more than likely this sexism bandwagon is just going to starve people and have them hornier than ever. We will probably get a bond where the woman is topless half the movie. They will probably dabble in Fleming's pet projects: Bondage and flagellation.

The Avengers poster is better effort than a man standing in front of a wall, but they are just striking dramatic poses. Even most fan art is like that.

Used to be you might not get a chance to see the trailer, so the poster operated as a trailer and advertised what was in the movie. This meant it focused on sex and action and basically where's waldo of squeezing as much information into the picture as possible.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is a great example, since it is specifically capturing that art style from the 60s.

Diamonds are Forever features a vixen that puts Jill St John to shame, and Frogmen placing sticky bombs on the oil rig legs, which were cut out of the finale due to budget restraints.

I agreee movie posters are in general less sexy than they were a few decades ago. But I don't think it's impossible in this day and age to publish hot posters, especially for a franchise like Bond that has a tradition. Here are some recent examples, even though most are from before #Metoo got big.

Rami Malek's villain's name is Safin.
    https://www.empireonline.com/movies/news/no-time-to-die-rami-malek-villain-james-bond-barbara-broccoli/

I put Safin into LinkedIn and found that people with the first name Safin were most often of Arab ethnicity, but people with the family name Safin had Russian like names, for example, one person was called Alexey Safin. Deliberate?

Safin has a nice ring to it. Someone's right, Safin is an Arab first name and Russian surname. We'll just see if we get his full name before the film is released. Malki himself is of cource of Arab decent, but I think he can pass as a Russian too.
