Depends when you're going Jarvio. FCO advice is currently no travel to Italy, unless essential.

Norway is in late June. The other countries mentioned will be in late August.

By June, we'll know a lot more (either way). Hopefully, by August things will be improving. But as others have said, I wouldn't be surprised if this is with us until the end of the year.

My impression is that most people love to be told what to think if they're already generally in agreement of what they are being told. I suspect Trump supporters aren't an exeption.

He's very popular in the states. It would alienate a lot of the American audience who are already looking at the me too insertion and being tired of being told what to think.

People in the US are very divided these days when it comes to the President. IMO, best to leave politics out of Bond films and stick to insane megalomaniacs bent on world domination or destruction or playing God or whatever who is a common threat to everyone.

Yeah, I guess nothing can be done other than to wait and find out. Thanks for the reply.

I suspect that any 'inclusion' of Trump or Brexit will not be direct references, but rather presenting a 'world that has moved on' since Bond's departure that reflects some of the issues raised since 2016, and I'd hazard a guess at incompetent political leadership, corruption between business and politics (which you could argue was a seam running through Quantum) and Russian interference in the world.

I agree, especially if MI6/CIA being overrun by Spectre or other goons is a plot beat in the film.

I hate to scare you, but I just heard today Canada has official travel advisorys both against travelling to Italy ("Avoid non-essential travel"). The news tells us the whole country is in quarantine.
And against any cruise ship travel. ("Avoid all travel on cruise ships").

Hopefully this virus will have run its course by the time of your vacation.

Off topic but now Disney is [delaying their major releases (https://twitter.com/brooksbarnesNYT/status/1238221055107297285). MGM/EON's gambit paid off! They got the best spot for profit maximization.

I'm watching Being James Bond's "Theraphy Session". He wonders why there is so much fuss about Corona when tens of thousands die from the flu every year? "What do they know that I don't know?"
A large part of the population are immune to the ordinary flu. Other than the few who have recovered from Corona, no one is immune of that epidemic. If Corona spreads completely out of control it can get much worse than the flu. That's what he doesn't know. I enjoy Being James Bond, but I think it should be said.

Plus, there‘s an existing vaccine for the flu...

It's also more contagious. One person with flu will infect 1.4 people on average. Those with COVID-19 will infect between 2 and 3.

And Covid-19 also has ten times the mortality of the common flu. But I realise now that I should have posted all this in the Corona thread.

“Being James Bond” needs to get his facts straight before he puts this garbage on the internet. Misinformation spreading through social media is a huge problem right now, and it will cost lives. It’s irresponsible to blast off a video to hundreds or thousands of followers on social media half-cocked and give people the wrong idea about the current risk. To answer his question of what do “they” know that he doesn’t - evidently a lot.

There's more misinformation and downright nonsense that goes out through social media to begin with and in the case of this virus that can be very dangerous. People who do this sort of thing need to get their heads out of their own arses and find a little human decency.

Not to take a side here but it‘s also every person‘s own responsibility to know where to get valid facts from. And a James Bond-reviewer ain‘t it...

Quite right: I've never heard of this BJB thing, but I was surprised to read here that he or they were talking about it: they're a bloody James Bond fan thing.

Thanks to Bill Koenig for his timeline from which all this info is taken. I have only noted below official announcements or likely EON/MGM/Universal sanctioned media stories.

Today we are 240 days or 7 months 26 days from the UK 12 November release date. When filming ended on 25 October 2019 it was 161 days or 5 months 9 days until the planned 2 April release. Five months and 9 days before 12 November is Wednesday 3 June. Will we see a restart of the marketing effort from early June?

It's quite clear that the marketing campaign got going immediately after filming ended. On 25 October Fukunaga and Lynch posted Instagram posts and there was a steady stream of interviews and images and video released in the days and weeks after that.

26/27 Oct new image and story with Empire magazine.
3 Nov DC does a London Sunday Times interview.
6 Nov Lynch and de Armas do The Hollywood Reporter story.
8 Nov BBC Phoebe Waller-Bridge (PWB) interview.
12/13 Nov Land Rover video and info on models in NTTD.
17 Nov UK newspaper The Observer feature about Naomi Harris.
21 Nov PWB interview in NYT.
22 Nov Ana de Armas feature in LA Times.
22 DC appears on The Late Show.
27 Nov Good Morning America announces it will have an NTTD event on 4 December.

Then on 4 December we got the trailer. If they plan for a similar timing for a new trailer, maybe not the final, final one, ahead of the 12 Nov. release then that new trailer would be 120-days before 12 Nov. and that date is Wednesday 15 July. The 4 Dec. was also a Wednesday.

By 4 March we had had four TV spots, and SPECTRE had had seven. I suspect we'll get a new series of TV spots that are sliced and diced in a slightly different way, along with some more of the social media teasers and character teasers.

Then again, if coronavirus has not diminished in its impact by June, we might see some nervousness on the part of the studios and the renewal of the marketing campaign left for a little while longer.

I feel like summer will be pretty quiet on the NTTD marketing campaign front and it'll start up again in the fall.

I guess I missed it but all the poster artwork for that contest is listed.

    https://007.talenthouse.com/i/design-artwork-inspired-by-daniel-craigs-bond-films/submissions/selected

Tons of artwork. But I think the one posted here is the best I've seen so far. I thought that was the winner of the contest and I was more excited for the movie because that poster had the fun of those old posters.

Zimmer confirms multiple artists were asked to write the NTTD theme and the article also reveals that Billie Eilish and her brother were shown a rough cut of NTTD while they were making their song with Zimmer's help.

Wonder how rough it was, how many redacted bits there were?

Thanks so much for sharing that. After reading the article, I would think it's a very good bet that the theme song will be reflected in the score.....which could be a welcome return of a Bond score tradition.

It's interesting because before Eilish and her brother had said they had read the first act before they wrote the song. I wonder if the song they wrote changed substantially once Zimmer had them watch the rough cut? It would seem to me Zimmer wanted a tone that reflected the film and by showing them the rough cut they would buy into whatever changes he wanted.

I hope one day some of those other artists' song submissions get leaked. What songs couldn't Zimmer get through the intro for?

Nokia releases Nomi advert, or the first one anyway.

I'm surprised brands are going ahead with their promotions despite the 7 month release delay. Any insights @TheBondExperience?

Not much insight, other than I know many have postponed....I was a little surprised to see this commercial as well.

Yes, I don't know why they release it now and not in October/November.
