Whatever work Craig had done, it turned out exceptionally well. He's looking healthy and no longer beyond his years.
He’s looking much better, isn’t he? Maybe he did have some work done, or perhaps diet, rest, and exercise are the culprits. Possibly all of the above.
Agreed he does look better. Also his hair is always better when off duty. I hope that they keep it that way, less brutish and more becoming for a slightly older Gentlemen (I have recently had a similar 'Rug-rethink)
Of that of which we cannot speak we must pass over in silence- Ludwig Wittgenstein.
Craig did say when he announced his return for one more that he wanted to go out on a high note. So it's no surprise that he appears to be doing his part to not be the fat old Bond who stayed for one film too many. Is it just me, but in the video from the car auction when Craig responds that he is doing Bond 25 next does he not seem genuinely happy with that grin and gleam in his eyes? He appears to have come a long way from "I'd rather slash my wrists".
I saw that as wel interesing that his response was different to his Wife's re Danny Boyle. On that subject the Boyle Richard Curtis film will be shooting scenes yards from my house in May. They are currently doing pretty production work on the Beach for a stunt scene.
N.B. 'pretty production ' was a typo but I left it as I liked it.
I hope you'll try to find out more about Bond25 then? :007)
A Reddit user called "CahleyPersia" has posted about Bond25. I don't know anythging about this peron, but MI6Community seems to find him believable enough to quote him in their production diary.
Here is the post. Discuss:
I've gained some more clarity on the situation:
Boyle will film the Richard Curtis comedy this summer. Then he will immediately begin pre-production on Bond 25. He will then shoot that film throughout 2019 and it will arrive in cinemas in November that year.
The release of the Richard Curtis comedy hasn't been set. The deal between Eon and Working Title allows for Boyle to edit the films concurrently. So when Bond 25 stops shooting, Danny will edit both films at the same time.
Despite being filmed first, you likely won't see the Richard Curtis comedy before you see Danny's Bond film.
Boyle is said to have a female villain at the centre of his Bond film and he is actively casting the role now. They want an A-list actress for the role. I've heard the usual suspects of A-listers who have supposedly met with Boyle or will meet with him. I have a friend at CAA and the part is billed as someone with a "personal connection" to Bond.
There is also a role of a young female MI6 agent who Bond is said to mentor. This role may even be informally cast already.
John Hodge has finished his draft. He will likely remain the sole writer of the project. Despite internet gossip, Danny Boyle is not officially writing the script.
I'm just catching up on this thread. But I thought I'd share this: It's a joke post I wrote for April Fool's Day on IG and FB ...
BREAKING NEWS! Bond 25 Script Leaked! Casting announcements imminent! A copy of Danny Boyle and John Hodge’s Bond 25 script was leaked to the German magazine “Das ist Quatsch” earlier this morning. And some of the details coming out should make us Bond fans very happy! Emma Watson is being approached for the role of the next Bond girl. She will also be playing the main villain, who happens to be … Bond’s daughter! Also up for a role? Harrison Ford as 007’s long-lost father, Andrew Bond!
Details from the leaked script are slowly emerging. But it seems the plot will revolve around Bond having to face the consequences of his past sexual escapades. The character of Bond girl/villain/daughter launches a plan to take over the world and seek revenge on 007 for missing her childhood. Bond’s mission to stop her is complicated by the sudden appearance of his father, who has been suffering from amnesia after the tragic mountaineering accident that left him presumed dead.
When director Danny Boyle was asked about the leaks and potential casting he had this to say: “We felt that making everything about “family” was one of SPECTRE’s strongest elements. So we’ve decided to keep exploring that part of Bond’s story. Emma’s an incredibly talented actress and perfect for the role of Bond’s daughter. And Harrison? We needed someone iconic to be James Bond’s father. Who better than Indiana Jones? Plus, as we know from his work in “The Last Crusade”, he can do a very convincing Scottish accent."
More news to come!
I sincerely hope that NONE of what I wrote comes close to what the real script is like! )

Will do my best. Not sure if it's second unit or not as they were rehearsing a stunt.
Of that of which we cannot speak we must pass over in silence- Ludwig Wittgenstein.
As we have this strange situation where Danny Boyle has not been formally announced and this week Daniel Craig could only bring himself to say, "We'll see," when asked about Boyle, I thought I'd look back at what happened with Mendes and Skyfall.
Now, this is big, so someone very close to the EON leaders confirms Mendes, and 14 months before shooting begins. Again, this time, eight/nine months from shooting, we have had no one go on the record about Boyle, only 'sources'.
I'm not saying Bond25 will be delayed or never happen, but when you look back at a similar situation (by which I mean there is very little known at this stage, when normally a lot more would have been said) and you see key figures behaving differently, i.e. readily leaking info to the press and being named as sources, and now we have total silence; it has to make you think.
Let the flaming commence in, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, Go!!!!
I have to give you credit, you don't give up.
There seems to be a pattern here. Some positive news, etc gets posted ie Craig looks good/fit in most recent public appearance and then "Someone" comes on in with some conjured up negativity based on twisted logic predicting some doom and gloom for Bond 25.
At this point IMO, at best this is trolling or at worst, well it might be time to sit down and speak to a professional )
Ok, now let's debunk this. What is presently going on with MGM is different than what is happening now.
MGM at that time was on the verge of financial collapse which is not the situation now. MGM may or may not be sale. There is no
information regarding this except from anonymous "sources". And if MGM is truly for sale, "Anonymous sources" are reporting that there are other studios (Sony was named) who are quote (anonymous sources once again) "ready to pounce".
I have no doubt that 25 will happen, and happen on time. Still think DC's reaction was odd, but suppose he can't even give a hint that all is a done deal. If it is Boyle (and I hope it is) the timeline is crazy, bad enough with the customary short time between wrap and release, but two simultaneously in post, wow. I don't think it's doom mongering or naysaying to express concern at the state of play. My concern is the potential impact upon quality. I take comfort in beliving that there are big numbers at stake and that they know what they are doing. Overall Daniel looking sharp makes this a good news day.
Of that of which we cannot speak we must pass over in silence- Ludwig Wittgenstein.
There's a big difference between having concerns and fearmongering. The timeline does appear tight, and while as zaphod99 put it, the film should get out on time but will it be any good? There's never a guarantee that a film will be good under any circumstances. Part of the problem is that the public is being kept in the dark . There could be much more in place than we know about.
After being burned by the Sony hacks with SPECTRE, it really looks like EON has battened down the hatches and is intent on tightly controlling any information regarding Bond 25. I'm not remotely very knowledgeable about post production but in this age of digital shoots and editing I would imagine that much can be accomplished in shorter time frames. Directors really vary on how fast they work. Clint Eastwood is known for being very concise, not requiring multiple takes or a lot of time in the editing room. I don't know where Boyle fits on that spectrum. Certainly a Bond film would require much more. There doesn't seem to be much information available regarding the Richard Curtis film Boyle is to direct but it appears to be a much smaller film than Bond. It would not surprise me if there is an agreement between EON/MGM and the Curtis film people that Bond takes precedent and if there are any delays to the Curtis film in post production , there would be financial compensation. Just wild guessing on my part.

It's all a bit odd to say the least. I've decided to roll with it....I'm not one to go on blind faith but hopefully the powers that be are making the right decisions and know what they are doing. If Bond 25 is bad, there will plenty of blame to go around. At this stage, I just don't believe we (at least I) have enough to go on to make any dire prognostication. Just a few weeks ago, many here were wringing their hands as to how lumpy and doughy Craig looked (I will admit I had concerns) but now he appears to look fit and as good if not better than he looked in SPECTRE with months to go before filming starts. Things change....sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worst. We shall see.
Thing is, it all might be going absolutely fine. Do we actually know what's going on and how the behind-the-scenes stuff of the film industry works?
On fan sites of any sort, many many members talk as if they know exactly how the film industry works. I don't know these people, so maybe they do know how it all works, but so many people do this so I am skeptical. Which leads me to think that people are possibly just worrying over nothing. I know it's easy to worry when something you're passionate about is involved, in this case bond. But so many people are acting as if they know how the industry works, when, most likely things change and can be very unpredictable. Some people think it's odd that the director hasn't been 'confirmed' yet, but do we really know if this is actually odd, or is it kinda normal at this stage?
This is not a post to tell people to stop acting as if they know it all, but rather, a post to say that maybe everything is just all ok and to not worry. -{
For what it's worth, if it's a stinker then it's a stinker, but what goes on behind the scenes/time frame/time between films has no effect on the film's quality IMO. But then again, I have the list of a black sheep, with AVTAK so high and CR so low. So take of that what you will.
I just hope we get some news on the title soon. For SPECTRE, we found out the title in October/November time I think? So if history were to repeat itself (which it won't necessarily will) then we can expect around that time.
I imagine that in franchise movie making the core group is the producers and the director whilst important, is more interchangeable. Obviously the producers are vital on any film but in a franchise the machine is rolling and a director is not required to build from the ground up as much. They can come into the picture later on in production because so much of the groundwork already has been laid by the production team. Boyle or any other director being announced later is not necessarily a big deal I don't reckon. It's ramifications are not equivalent to a hypothetical of say, Stanley Kubrick being a last minute announcement to direct 2001, as it's not an auteur film where the director is completely central to everything.
Remember that Mendes was first hired as a “consultant” to Skyfall, then months later named director, because Eon’s contract with MGM stipulated that once a director is hired it triggers first payment, and because MGM was going through a bankruptcy, they didn’t want to complicate things. I have a feeling that with MGM’s current issues, the same thing might be happening with Boyle. In other words, he is the director, but they are purposely waiting until a later date to announce it...

Though Bond has become more director-focused in the last few films, this is how Bond generally works. The Bond producers generally make most of the big decisions, not the directors.

We only found out at the Dec. 4 press conference, I remember, very clearly, watching it on my computer at work, and colleagues a bit mystified when I punched the air when the name reveal came up...
Sort of positive, Naomie Harris told the BBC's The Graham Norton show last night she does, "know they start shooting at the end of the year," but she doesn't know if she is in it it.
Odd. A return to the Casino Royale approach, no Moneypenny, no Q?
It's strange how she knew absolutely nothing a few days ago when doing other publicity for her new film Rampage and now she knows when they start filming, not an insignificant fact.
It seems we have been getting little tidbits here and there. My guess is that EON has probably been telling primary cast members, etc what they can say or can't say. I would even venture to say that other than Craig himself, there might be quite a bit that has not been shared with them either. The less known, the less chance of leaks. Harris knowing the date shooting begins but not knowing if she is in Bond 25 is almost comical.
I believe that she knows the date and if she's in it or not. Wouldn't bother me if she's not,she adds little for me, in fact I find the character a tad irritating. Much more of a blow would be no Ben Wishaw as Q.
Of that of which we cannot speak we must pass over in silence- Ludwig Wittgenstein.
I'd like to see Jeffrey Wright back as Felix Leiter. Wright's a good actor and his interaction with Craig/Bond in CR and QOS are good scenes and add to those films. I have no problem with Harris as Moneypenny but if she is not in the film (which I doubt) it wouldn't bother me. From what has been heard from Ben Whishaw, it does look like he will be in Bond 25.
Whishaw emphasises he knows nothing about the next film and can't even be sure he'll be in it. But he enjoyed stretching his muscles in Spectre in a way Q hadn't before.
"I'm secretly hoping that I'll get to do more action in the next one. I'd like to be a little bit more involved - it would be wonderful.
"But we'll see. Like everything to do with James Bond, it's all a mystery at the moment."
So, he knows nothing. I couldn't find anymore news story quotes or references to Whishaw since the end of January and his Paddington 2 press tour.
Naomie Harris has been asked about Bond again, and she sounds a bit fed up and sarcastic in her response in this video dated 13 April at 3 min 29 seconds. Unsurprisingly, she knows nothing. https://youtu.be/Vl2YSCQok0s

Do you genuinely believe Harris and Whishaw wouldn’t know if they were required for filming ?
While I doubt the big roles have been cast (villain, etc), I would be sure that the regulars (M, Moneypenny,Q, etc) know if they are in the film at this point.

I can't find it now, but I thought I saw a news story where they claimed that Boyle's comedy would come out after Bond25, giving him the time to focus on Bond and then finish post-production on his comedy after November 2019.
The story above says Universal expects a summer 2018 shoot for the comedy. When is Boyle supposed to do the prep and post-production for Bond25?
Marketing a film usually starts 4 weeks before the release, but August is surely when Boyle would be doing Bond25 post-production after a possible January to July shoot?
