I received yet another Sunspel Riviera polo shirt today from the recent sale. I've got quite a few now and when I was looking at my other ones I remembered that the Spectral Grey edition came with the advertising blurb...

"and is cut from the original block tailored to Craig’s exact measurements".

What in tailoring terms does that actually mean?

I think they use the shoulder, chest, bicep, and waist proportions of Dc from casino royale days. I think he wore a large back then.

I don't know what it means but I believe Mantis has the screen used polo and may be able to weigh in on the sizing.

I'm almost certain he would wear a size medium. We have similar physiques, albeit I'm taller, and a Medium gives me that perfect muscular look. A large would still fit but would lose some of the effect. Pretty sure Mantis has stated he wears a Medium.

Yes I believe he wore a medium with some extra tailoring.

Dc's was basically tailored to fit closer accross the chest and they also shortened the sleeve length.

"and is cut from the original block tailored to Craig’s exact measurements" just means they used Craig's measurements to create the template block pattern for the shirt. So each individual piece of the pattern (those shapes drawn on the paper) is based on Craig. I'm sure Sunspel tweaked the pattern when the shirt went into mass production so each size would fit a wider range of people while still retaining the look from the film.
