Through nobodies fault (covid) time isn't kind as initial enthusiasm Wain's over time, plus life and unforeseen financial commitments happen.
In this projects case, the actual price is high. It's fine by me but is definitely a bigger financial commitment.
And we are now all in uncertain times, and different lifestyles. I'm wearing out "house" clothes and simply getting no opportunity to wear any of my 007 stuff....
The other issue, certainly with the tie projects is that the suppliers of fabrics have gone out of business, so they have to start from scratch each time....
Every time I've corresponded with Luigi, he has always seemed very excited about making this project happen. So I know he will do what he can.
And unlike the QoS tie project, TF already has the fabric and everything needed to move forward with this project, the only thing they have not had is the minimum number of orders to green light it. Due to Covid, I haven't even bothered Luigi as it would me a moot point. Probably not even worth taking a head count and reaching out to him until 2022.
A friend of mine recently went to Las Vegas, and he told me that mask orders were lifted everywhere he went, and in all businesses with the exception of Tom Ford. This particular company has and is taking the pandemic very seriously and like others have stated, special projects most likely won't even be on the table until 2022. And that's me being very optimistic.
Besides the pandemic, the most difficult aspect about this project has been the price of this polo. The cost changes depending on how many orders we get, the more orders, the lower the cost, but without being able to really nail down an official price, I understand why some would be hesitant to get onboard. Our goal right now is to have 40-50 confirmed orders. If we get that, I'll take that information to Luigi and see if we can get a locked in price.

The problem is that half the people on the confirmed list have dropped off or are MIA.
We seem to lose people as frequently as we gain them. The number of parties that are
actually in seem to change on a monthly basis. I can ask Luigi where things stand but I don't
want to waste his time until we have at the very least 35-40 confirmed orders.

Is this likely to move into 2022 do you think? I'm thinking if staff are furloughed until later this year in Italy?

This is still David Zaritsky's project. I just grabbed the torch for a moment as these projects can be a bit tedious.
Ultimately, it all comes down to Luigi and us hitting the appropriate numbers. Stay optimistic!
