WTB. Barbour Commander

After having missed out on the Barbour that Cedric had for sale I'm looking for one in medium, I think. I have heard conflicting opinions on how the sizing is. ( I am in between a small and medium).

If anyone has one they are willing to part with please let me know so we can discuss price. Cheers. -{

    I wrote a review of the jacket on Iconic Alternatives. I thought it might help with sizing concerns, and I had a few links to some shops that are selling it. Hope this helps. -{

  • Thanks James. I went back to read your write up and I remembered I did read it a few months ago when I decided I wanted to put the SkyFall lodge outfit together.
    Great article by the way.

    Going by the info I will probably look for a small. I would rather it be more fitted in the chest and shoulders and fit well in the waist and length than have it be too loose in the waist and be too long.

    In SkyFall Craig's jacket looked to be rather fitted in the shoulders and chest if I remember correctly.

    Just re-read your review James. It is excellent.

    I'm still so tempted to purchase this lovely piece but having similar jackets in my wardrobe, I'm struggling to justify it :(

    Thanks gents! I'm glad to hear that the review is helping.

    Agent Double-O Daniel, I cannot express enough how tight the chest and shoulders can be, so if going with a small is sizing down, I would be cautious about it. It is always possible to get it tailor d by Barbour, and a medium could leave room for growth. Best bet is to get the measurements of both sizes and get the one that makes the most physical sense. I hope that helps.

    The Red Kind, I know what you mean. It was a hard decision for me as well because I live in a hot climate. If you just want the look, it sounds like you've already got it. The only benefit to getting the jacket would be the collectors mindset. It's all a matter of perspective, right? :)) all the best brother.

  • Thanks James. Yeah I wear a small in most of my shirts and jackets but I am leaning towards getting a medium because as you said it would leave room for growth. I've been trying to put some more muscle on and I hope that by next summer my physique will look more like DC's in Casino Royale. B-)

    Well I hope anyway. :))
