The perfect way out

In Skyfall Mallory says to Bond:

"I only have one question. Why not - stay dead? You have the perfect way out. Go and live, quietly somewhere. Not many field agents get to leave this cleanly".

Imagine if a then 44 year old Bond decided to take this advice. Where do you think he would have ended up? Somewhere hot doing private security work maybe? Living a playboy lifestyle perhaps?
Yes. Considerably!

Royale les eaux, I'd like to think, taking a residency at the best hotel, playing poker and living well off his winnings. And at the weekends he'd be found applying kurust to his db5.
It was either that.....or the priesthood

Maybe becoming a part-time instructor training 00-agents and/or SBS soldiers. When he wasn't working he would live in the Bahamas diving or in Southeren France skiing in the Alps or gambling in places like Monte Carlo. An apartment in London, a house in the Bahamas and a hotel room on the French riviera. I doubt Bond would become a full time playboy, he would keep some connection to the navy or MI6.

This is if he retires. If he says "dead" that wouldn't work. Perhaps Italy instead of France, some island in the Pasific instead of Bahamas? I doubt he would stay idle for long. Skiing and diving instructor? Finding and rescuing kidnap victims as some ex-SF people do? Chief of security at some casino?

I wonder if MI6 and London weren't attacked how long Bond would continue "enjoying death" for?

For as long as his liver could take it.

If only there was some cache of money, precious metals or paper securities that would somehow be "cleansed" of any immoral trail to Bond (i.e., he didn't steal it) that was left to him by someone, heck, even winning a lottery jackpot in the hundreds of millions, or duh, parlaying his pot through a series of card games, that would be so cool.
