My comment wasn't meant as humor.

I don't know if you were aware you linked to Russia Today, TP. I really hope you know RT is completely controlled by the Putin regime.

It's not only the RT youtube link, it's sharing RT propaganda verbatim.

I usually ignore TP, but calling Macron a fascist is totally out of line - in particular as it's very much likely not Macron's decision to use teargas or not.

The territorial disputes about ownership of parts of the South China Sea were decided by the UN in a press release today. Whether China accepts or obeys the ruling is another matter, of course.

MANILA, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte affirmed on Wednesday the Philippines’ arbitral victory against China over the South China Sea before the United Nations General Assembly.
“The award is now part of international law, beyond compromise and beyond the reach of passing governments to dilute, diminish or abandon,” he said in a speech that was pre-recorded at the Malacañang Golf Clubhouse in Manila and aired early on Wednesday.
“We firmly reject attempts to undermine it,” he added

He noted that the Philippines’ commitment in the disputed part of the South China Sea was in accordance with the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea and the 2016 ruling of the Permanent Court of Arbitration in the Netherlands.
China has consistently refused to acknowledge the 2016 ruling that invalidated its claim in the entire South China Sea.
Its reclamation activities and militarization in the heavily contested area have also raised concerns over peace and stability in the region.
Meanwhile, the President also thanked the countries that backed the Philippines’ arbitral victory.
“We welcome the increasing number of states that have come in support of the award and what it stands for — the triumph of reason over rashness, of law over disorder, of amity over ambition. This — as it should — is the majesty of the law,” Duterte said.
Recently, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany rejected China’s expansive claims in the South China Sea through a joint note verbale submitted to the UN.
Yeah, well, sometimes nothin' can be a real cool hand.

In an interview on Wednesday Trump said he wanted to get rid of the mail votes :o

When the journalist countered that "people are rioting", Mr Trump interjected: "Get rid of the ballots, and you'll have a very - you'll have a very peaceful - there won't be a transfer, frankly, there'll be a continuation."

We also know Trump has said several times he won't guarantee his resignation if he loses the election.

No other president in the history of the United States has ever said anything of this sort - it was unthinkable before Trump.
This is the sort of statements we can expect from the likes of Lukachenko in Belarus or other dictators, not "the leader of the free world".

Are there any Trump supporters who can defend his stance on this issue?
  • CoolHandBondCoolHandBond Mactan IslandPosts: 7,171MI6 Agent
I wouldn’t say I was a Trump supporter as I am not a supporter of 99.9% of politicians, in my opinion they are all as bad as each other and it’s a case of voting against who is worst, rather than voting for who is best, and because of this I have refused to vote for many, many years.

What I will agree with is that postal votes should be banned as they are far too open to abuse. I think it was in Peterborough that a huge and abnormal postal vote swung the vote to the left in the last election?

It’s also interesting that it’s the left who vociferously support the postal ballot which seems to imply that vote rigging is very much on the agenda.

Barbel, you may find it strange that I’m posting on this thread seeing that you know I wish for it to be closed and I intend to not engage in any responses to this post - my view is stated and will not be expanded upon.

Thank you for posting, CHB :)
I have yet to see any proof or any organisation that works with observing elections saying voting by mail is prone to fraud.
I have also yet to see a head of state in a democracy who lies as often as Trump. is also the only head of state in a democracy I know of who says he isn't sure he will resign if he loses the election and he is deeply irresponsible in saying the only way the opposition can win is by fraud in spite of the fact that everything point towards a close election.

I just watched a French/Swiss documentary on the WHO on NRK (Norwegian public broadcast TV). I can't find it on youtube and I belive NRK can't be watched online from abroad, but it is made by Hikari and ARTE G.E.I.E.
It's about the World Health Organisation, their handling of Covid-19 and earleir apidemics and threir ties to China.
To be brief it supports most of what TP wrote in posts in AJB about WHO and China, but it also says China's hold on WHO is made possible because the US allows it to happen because of the US unilateral policies.
It's ironic that Taiwan has handled Covid-19 better than most countries in spite of (or because of?) not being a member of WHO. It was scary watching a Taiwanese journalist interviewing a WHO official. Whe she asked him about Taiwan's handling of the pandemic he first preteneded not hearing the question and wanted her to skip to another question. She asked agagain and he replied as if Taiwan was a part of China, but carelfully awoiding saying the word "Taiwan".

Like N24 has said, there is no evidence or even a hint that a larger con was on the way with absentee voting in the past and I am sure that our friend Blackleiter can confirm this from his own experience.

We are in the mid of a pandemic and it's forseable that a larger number of people in the US will want to avoid lining up for hours in large crowds in front of the ballot stations and place an absentee vote.

All those lies (and they are simply that) about potential voter fraud is just ridiculous, the Republican party has a decade old tradition of keeping poorer voters (who likely will not vote for them) from the ballot boxes.

You think, I am making this up?
There is a dedicated Wikipedia article on that!

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voter_suppression_in_the_United_States
    Gerrymandering:
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gerrymandering

So if anybody knows about how to cheat on an election, it‘s the GOP!

Additionally Trump and family already placed absentee votes for themselfs and at the same time he tries to refuse that to his citizens?

    Peterborough

    >> A Cambridgeshire Police spokesperson said: "I can confirm police received several reports of electoral fraud following the Peterborough by-election.
"Of the five allegations reported, two incidents are currently being investigated to establish if any offences have been committed.
    "No arrests have been made."
Peterborough Council said it received one report of alleged bribery prior to polling day, which was referred to police and resulted in no further action.
It said another concern was received on polling day which was also referred to the police but could not be substantiated.
The council said it had seen no evidence that postal voting fraud had taken place.
Postal votes accounted for 9,898 of the 33,998 ballot papers received, and 400 of the postal votes returned were rejected due to either the signature, or date of birth, or both not matching council records.
Onasanya was elected as a Labour MP in 2017 with a wafer-thin majority of 607 but was suspended from the party after she was sentenced for lying about speeding earlier this year.<<

Republican and Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell says on Twitter: "The winner of the November 3rd election will be inaugurated on January 20th. There will be an orderly transition just as there has been every four years since 1792."

Before 2016 this would have been stating the obvious, but with Trump as president it's a great relief and a a welcome example of sanity and dignity.

This entire voter fraud stuff makes no sense.

In all democracies, voters can place absentee votes. It‘s a normal and common thing and part of the process.
In times of a Pandemic, it should be normal that a larger number of voters will want to vote from home.

How anyone would attempt to spin this into a larger conspiracy theory and instrumentalize it to discredit an upcoming election can be only explained with the power of Social Media and the lack of any common ground from those who keep on pushing this story.

FBI director Ray yesterday confirmed that he does not have any indication that a larger scale fraud with absentee votes is happening.

So the Trump Camp are using 9 mail in ballots found in a trashcan as evidence how mail in voting is rigged.

Well, first of all 9 cases are not really a large number and noone knows who put and found them there and what the intentions are.

More importantly, anyone has a guess how many in-person ballots are trashed before counting in a traditional setup?

Trump implies he already won the nobel Peace Prize:

“You love your president, and your president gets honored,” Trump told the crowd in Fayetteville. “I’m not being honored, you’re being honored, with the Nobel Peace Prize for Israel, what we did with Israel.”

In the real world the peace prize winer isn't made public until early October :))

It can be argued he's just saying he expects to win, but in that case he is very unclear. It's maybe he's very inaccurate like in the "Last night in Sweden" incident where he said "Did you see what happened last night in Sweden?" when he probaly meant to say something along the lines of "Did you see the story about Sweden on TV last night?"

I wonder if Trump found Biden to be sleepy during the debate? :D
And I wonder if anyone thought Trump was presidential at the debate? :#
