Omega Commander Box

Has anyone noticed the variation on the brass insert on the lid of the Omega Commander box that covers/houses the latch mechanism, I've checked on the Omega site and it appears to be rectangular, but on our trip back to the UK the main Omega retailer in town has three in stock (yes 3!), but 2 of them have the same brass latch cover with rounded edges to match the hinges below.

Any help or explaination would be appreciated.

All of the promotional shots that i have seen of the box show the latch being squared off not rounded. I would suggest you contact your local Omega boutique or email customer service to see if they can give you an explanation on why the change occurred.

The shop tried Omega in the UK but no explaination could be offered, it's weird.

I'd be interested to hear what other owners or retailers have.

They had one on show at BIM when I visited last week - looks to have rounded metal work

    Cheers :007)

I took a look at chrono24.com today and they had 25 listed for sale! I only saw one that clearly had rounded edges on the latch cover. I wonder if it's something they changed after the first few dozen boxes were made?

I guess that was 25 muppets that thought they would get in first to sell to 25 other muppets at a profit. I saw one on Watchfinder today selling on bracelet only - that's a lot of money just for a NATO strap!

Lucky we are not muppets on this site unless it's screen used SA (no offence to any owners on AJB)

Sorry the watch is not nice enough to warrant a price increase and honestly they made way too many of them. What I'd really like to know is when nato strap will be released and for how much! My contact says it will be available soon but we both know that "soon" could be next year.

Saw one of these on display last week, the bright colours make it look like a kids 'fisher price my first bond watch' and the price is absurd. Nice if you can drop that kind of money on it but it looks dowdy as hell if you ask me.

I wonder how many have been sold to actual customers?

Who knows other than omega, but I can't wait till 2019, a new Bond film and 4 bond films have anniversaries in 2019 too, seeing as the Commander celebrates a trio of Bond anniversaries 2019 should yield loads of new omegas :v
It was either that.....or the priesthood

Well hopefully Omega doesn't release something like the Commander again. Personally i am not a fan of most of the Omega 007 watches as they plaster the 007 logo all over the place but my favorite 2 are the the Seamaster 2531.80 worn by Pierce Brosnan and the Seamaster 300 worn by DC in Spectre. Maybe can release a new Seamaster with a blue ceramic bezel and ceramic wave dial. That would be something i'd buy!
