Thats an interesting topic and one I think of regularly - however not so much in terms of the money but longevity / lifespan.
There are things that I do baby fair bit e.g. a Tom Ford Cardigan, however something like a leather jacket the more worn the better

That's a good idea for a Vlog! Since Bond always aspires to wear the best its interesting when that's not always the case with some of his products like the Sanders.
I don't get all the bad feedback on the sanders - I have two pairs and have worn them plenty of times with no wear on them at all. I guess its down to whether you leave a heavy footprint or walk lopsided )

Its just honest experience feedback I guess, mine wore very quickly at the heel but not at the front like David's, I put it down to wearing them in the wrong environment and I am heavy on heels anyway 6' 4" and a bit and nearly 16 stone but I was surprised to see David's worn so much.
On the snuff versus chocolate, imho screen accurate and screen used can be different, we all know about the filters used in Spectre and this obviously affects clothing appearance on the sanders boots the chocolate looks more similar to what we see on screen I think, though snuff is as we've been told the screen used colour.

I agree its a good idea for a Vlog - what pieces have been the best investment - clearly there are different factors to consider though as it will mean different things to each individual although there will be some common grounds i.e whether its wearability of the product, value for money for the item, or value retained as an investment piece. I have purchased loads of bond jackets and told my wife they are an investment for the future for my boys to wear!!!

The soles have amazing bounce and insole cushion feels like my best Born shoes. Ordered my usual size and I am glad I did because the fit is dead on. Best of all, no wear and tear on the rubber. Well made quality.

First impressions are that this is a very solidly built boot. Even with what everyone was saying, I was surprised at how heavy these boots are compared to other crepe soled boots I have tried.
I went with my normal size of UK11. They are snug but not too tight on my very wide foot along the vamp and in the toe box. They are a bit tight in the heel, so I will use a shoe tree to stretch them out before putting the boot though its paces.
Edited to add: I've worn them a bit around the house and they are starting to loosen up already. They are feeling very nice for out of the box. I will still use the shoe trees to stretch them as it's still a little tight on my left foot, but so far things look good.
I have been pondering getting a nicer pair of Chukkas and the Playboys looks nice, IMO.
Two questions; I'm a European size 42/US size 9/UK size 8. If I were to get this should I get my usual size do I need to do any adjustments?

Following up from my previous post, the Original Playboys stretched out nicely and are quite comfortable to wear. They've held up very well after a couple miles walking.
Dufus, I'm a little surprised it was that big on you. I wear an 11.5US in New Balance trainers and the 11UK OP boots are the same length.
I'm really disappointed they were too long; the return cost wasn't cheap and communication from Lesterstore was slow and patchy. I may order the size down if they get them back in stock.

I've been in contact with Playboy Footwear and it seems there has been some confusion over construction. I asked them whether any of the models were Goodyear Welted and the reply has come back: "None of them are Goodyear Welted today"
So it appears that whilst they were originally goodyear welted, the 'original playboy' chukka boots differ from the 'original' in a significant construction area; not Goodyear welted and so once the crepe sole wears they're done.

Even if the Playboys were Goodyear welted it would be almost impossible to get replacement thick crepe soles in the US. I'm also sure in the days of the old Hutton, the welt wasn't standard so they were probably the only ones with the necessary machines.

One pair I found interesting is the George Cox Pop Boys. Has anyone tried them? George Cox claims they've also been making this style for over 50 yrs.
