Which Bond film do you consider ridiculously weird?

This topic has probably been exhausted to death before, or maybe it hasn't. Anyhow, what Bond film would you consider strange to the point where it doesn't make sense over all the rest? I have an obvious pick here, and no it's not A View To A Kill, Diamonds Are Forever or Moonraker much to the obvious guessing of some...

It's The Man With The Golden Gun. Seriously, the entire film doesn't really make sense and it is laughable, but mostly on a good level. I used to outright hate this film for it's second half, the absurdity, Bond going back to school in his 40's, the CIA agent driving off without Bond, Sherriff J. W. Pepper's return, or just the retarded-ness of the fun house/cops and robbers climax, Britt Eckland who is the worst Bond girl of the series (besides Jinx), the ridiculous solar energy plot which really came out of nowhere or Roger Moore's woman-beating performance. However, I've learned to try to put it all at one side, and can enjoy it for what it is. It's just so weird, starting from the scene in Beirut... "I've lost my charm!" Bond: "Not from where I'm standing", Bond pretending to be Scaramanga, the sumo wrestler attempting to kill Bond in a rather uncomfortable fashion, the out of place Karate dojo fight, the long extended escape sequence that goes on forever (Guy Hamilton sure likes these in his films doesn't he), Pepper returning to crank the camp dial right up to 11, the slide whistle effect of the car flipping or wait for it... Nick Nack.

Seriously, this film goes way over the top, but somehow I still enjoy it. It is still my least favourite of all the Roger Moore Bond films, but that doesn't mean it is bad. I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts on what you consider to be the weirdest Bond film and why? It doesn't even have to be your least favourite of the series.

    It isn't just the most ridiculously weird Bond film ever made, it's one of the most ridiculously weird films ever made period.

    Agree with you re: - TMWTGG. Don't know if it's been done to death but a similar thread. Should have been done to death mind you.

    Live and Let Die is so weird with its supernatural voodoo curses and Blaxploitation haha it's still a fantastic Bond film though and I think it's creepy atmosphere helps it on its way to becoming my favourite Moore flick.

    As much as I personally love DAD, I can't deny that the whole Sci-Fi direction it heads in, after the hour mark catapults the film into complete ubsurdity and I think the whole DNA replacement therapy plot is the definition of weird :))

    Something that comes to mind because I caught some of GE on TV yesterday...I thought the way Natalia harangued Bond at every opportunity was so ridiculously weird. "Boys with toys!!!" "You think I'm impressed!?!" "What is it with you and moving vehicles?!?" "WAAAAKE UUUUUP!!!" :)) She certainly edged out Xenia for the prize in the over-the-top Russian female stereotype contest.

    I thought he was trying to protect his nieces. Doesn't make sense as we've seen them in action, beating up Hai Fat's students. It makes Hip look like a dick, tbf.
    Have you ever heard of the Emancipation Proclamation?"

    yes the "funny" Casino Royale is definitely weird.
    aging Hollywood producers thinking they're going to do a "psychedelic" spoof, presumably appealing to a young hip demographic. If 60-something Hollywood producers really did drop acid, that would only lead them to being even less in touch with their audience, off in a privileged millionaires fantasyland. Good thing for film history they all retired shortly after and let the young radicals bring in the New Hollywood era.*
    I've never read an account of how Casino Royale got put together, but I gather it all got thrown into chaos when Peter Sellers walked off the set. Was it after that they came up with the brilliant idea of letting five directors each film their bits and somehow edit it all together later?

    damn fine soundtrack, though. The weird film is worth it just for that soundtrack.

    *I just looked up Charles Feldman in Wikipedia. He is the same man who produced Streetcar Named Desire. I shouldn't mock a man for what he does in his declining years when he once made a film so great.

    Feldman wanted to make Casino Royale a straight Bond film with Connery as Bond...Broccoli & Saltzman blocked this idea, so Feldman went down the ‘spoof’ route...
    There’s actually quite a lot I like in CR’67 - especially the soundtrack -{

    I also agree. TMWTGG is so wild and crazy. Laughable at times, and it used to irk me and had me rank it among the lowest of Bond films.

    Now each rewatch in am appreciating the film for what it is more and more. And I love Scaramanga.

    I started a thread on this topic a while back if you're interested in checking it out. There are some interesting responses! https://www.ajb007.co.uk/topic/47454/what-do-you-think-is-the-weirdest-bond-film/

    TMWTGG is definitely one of the weirdest. Diamonds has my vote though -{
