This always struck me as a terrifying scene as a kid. It's almost everyone's worst nightmare really..does anyone know how they pulled this off (effects wise)?. you can see Roger's stuntman grappling with a snake underwater. For any bits and I'm assuming much of it isn't a real snake, how did they get the python so realistic? It's a truly nail-biting scene. One of Bond's worst encounters for sure. How do people rate this scene? As I say any info behind scenes on this appreciated?

In terms of filming techniques, I couldn't agree more.
If you haven't already, you should listen to the and the commentary for OP and YOLT.
The directors and respective crews go in depth on the various techniques they used, it's truly astonishing.
Although many people of the public don't regard the older Bonds as being that great, they should re-watch them. It's amazing how well they hold up. Even on the subject of MR. Just from the first 5 minutes in the PTS with the free fall, it's breathtaking.
I've listened to the commentaries, for someone of my age who first saw bond on TV, then on TV and recorded it on video, then got the official videos, then dvd's with the extras and so on, any further extras were most welcome... In fact I was really disappointed when they stopped the extras from the sf dvd onwards.
I should've made my message clear-er to let myself not be misunderstood, my bad!
Oh not bad at all dear chap, I think we'd be amazed how many long standing bond fans havnt listened to any commentaries.
Commentaries and reference books, I've listened/ read over the years. I guess I won't start

My good lady wife asking " Why do you keep buying the same films ? How many copies do you need ?"
I mentioned about aspect ratio the difference between video, DVD and Blu-ray ......... ROLLING EYES!!!
