Anyone find new releases hard work?

This is not an attack on Craig or the recent crop of films but I personally find myself:

- Avoiding any trailers, marketing or info on the new films.
- Watch them with as little prior knowledge as possible and not in their first days of release.
- Wait a very long time before watching them post-cinema.

I've not seen SP since I saw it at the movies and I waited about 4 years before seeing Skyfall for the 3rd time after 2 viewings at the cinema.

Anyone else the same?

Watch the new film numerous times at the cinema over period of a week or two.

Have a special viewing at home when first released on DVD and then usually give it a year before considering watching again.

It reaps dividends, I enjoyed the last one having avoided the spoilers and spoiler heavy trailer. Some of the commercial tie-ins can be a bit dreary though, a bit relentless. There was less of that in the old days, but now if you don't have it, it may seem the film is a bit low budget and off the radar.

I will generally read the spoilers or plot on Wiki before going to see anything :))

Did I mention that surprises are irritating to me :D

I feel that in the Internet age it can feel like we have seen the film before its released. I kept a bit of a distance during the production of SP, but could not resist the odd peek. For the next one I'll try harder.

I wish I could avoid all the trailers and media but I'm completely powerless once they're released :)) With Bond especially I soak it all up. Which is unfortunate because you can usually piece together the film fairly well from the main trailers. An example being in Spectre I knew at some point Bond was going to end up in the abandoned MI6 building. The greatest cinema experience I ever had was Interstellar partially because they intentionally left out any footage from the last hour or so of the film from the trailers so I genuinely had no idea what was going to happen next.
