There were many terrible opinions about many things a few decades ago - but guess what? We outgrew those too.

In many cases what actually happened is exactly the opposite.
Men used to know that they are superior to women.
Nowadays the majority of them believe that men and women are equal.
Which of both views is correct? The old fashioned one that you "outgrew" or the modern one?
Regarding the physical abilities men are superior to women. This can easily be verified by watching the Olypics or comparing the requirements in sports in school between males and females for a certain grade.
Regarding the intellectual abilities the IQ range of men is wider than that of women as proven by Harvard University.
Therefore there are more smart men than are smart women and also the smartest men are smarter than the smartest women.
That's why 95% of nobel laureates are male and if you leave out peace and literature that number goes close to 100 %.
So in this case my "outdated" view has been proven to be correct even though the belief in equality is a necessary illusion and its beneficial effects for women can only go in to effect when the majority believes them.

Diatribe! Some men may be superior to some women and some women are superior to some men, infact 90% of the women I know are intellectually far superior to yourself, society once held men in higher regard and actively sought to repress women that's where the false impression comes from which somehow still stays with people like yourself. I'd really like to know what makes you think you are superior to every woman on the planet? I suspect you have very limited experience of females which is often the case with sexism out dated thinkers like yourself unless of course your religion dictates your thinking? In which case that's even worse.

DB Seriously you are living in the dark ages I have served on operations with both men and women and have equal respect for both. Why? because it is a Ability to do the job that matters more than sex, race, religion, age or sexual persuasion. Society is merely reflecting this attitude. Men vs women went out the window decades ago get over it. No one is saying Chivalry is dead far from it but times have moved on.
As for freedoms you mention so freely when you have fought for these freedoms you mention you can comment. Just remember god gave you two ears and one mouth for a reason - listen to the clear message that is coming from the rest on this forum you are in a majority of one.

Some people in this thread are obviously offended by your statements and have asked you in a polite manner to stop and yet you persist......WHY?
Just wanted to add this. Despite the fact that this person holds opinions that most here would not agree with, no one jumped the gun and banned him.
I can appreciate that. Nothing I dislike more than censorship. I can completely understand a user going off topic and having to stop the discussion for the sake of the thread.
My short time on this board has been fantastic. Thanks for the great experience guys!
And whilst on the subject of censorship I find the following quote quite apt......
"I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it"
And guess what? This quote was from a lady, Evelyn Beatrice Hall, written in 1906.
I spent over twenty years of my life defending your right and have lived and worked with some highly capable, professional and intelligent women in my time, both in time of peace and hostility. I am sure there are places where your views are welcome, but somehow I don’t think this is one of them. It is people like you that make me wonder if I and many of my brothers in arms should have bothered.
Opinions are like assholes, everyone has them but some are more full of sh1t than others.
"I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it"
And guess what? This quote was from a lady, Evelyn Beatrice Hall, written in 1906.
And here I was, thinking Voltaire had actually said that.
"I'm afraid I'm a complicated woman. "
"- That is something to be afraid of."

C’mon, let’s leave the mouth breather to his mummy issues and get back on topic.
David, when will you be launching your vlog on this subject? Do you have enough viewpoints yet?
Weve already learnt some interesting stuff, I wonder if we can be categorised, like " the master misdirectors" or " the hides it in plain siters" or maybe the "what this old thingers" even " the justifiers"
Have to say that I’ve never tried to hide my bigger purchases, and SWMBO was fully behind the SPECTRE Omega, it’s the smaller stuff that generates ‘the look’, vintage tape recorders, radios, knives, spearguns, normally followed by “How much more stuff are you going to bring into this house?” or the old favourite “That loft will collapse soon, the amount of stuff you put up there!” B-)
Unfortunately, I have found that some websites devoted to Bond are not always the most welcoming place for women, which is a shame as I know quite a few in the real world who enthusiastically join in conversations and debates similar to what we engage in here.
But when women see "gay panic" humour, posts going on and on about an actress's breasts, or retrograde opinions about a woman's place in a relationship or in society...is it any wonder that the membership of these sites is overwhelmingly male?
Yes, we have freedom of speech but that does not equal freedom from criticism.
Just a few random thoughts after reading through the slog of...opinion up above.
I don't mean to pile on to a banned member, but I must mention there are two significant flaws to Daniel Bond's citation of that Harvard study.
1. Women are still to a degree conditioned to act "less smart" lest they intimidate men or something horrible like that. (Right up there with "tall women shouldn't wear heels".) Thus, they often do not express themselves as articulately as they should nor go into intellectual educations/fields as much as they should. Which is dumb and needs to end someday soon.
2. IQ tests are not reliable indicators of how smart people are. They only test for a certain type of intelligence. Furthermore, because of this, IQ tests were often used as a way to show "scientifically" that black people were of low intelligence and thus unworthy of the same privileges. Because, of course, they didn't have the same experience as whites and thus couldn't answer the same questions accurately. Furthermore, women -- who let's remember were not educated as often or in the same way as men -- were also shown to be "less intelligent" than men for the same reasons.
The IQ test is, frankly, quite an outmoded way of determining intelligence since it does not take into account various types of intelligences. So it doesn't surprise me that there would be inherent bias to those findings.
The topic begs the question what is a Bond purchase? Probably the lawyer in me coming out which doesn't help as missus is to.
When I got an Omega LE couldn't really argue I wanted a new watch.
But there are grey areas. It seems RMW regarded by many as Craig items but I've been wearing them for decades. My black pair wearing out ( after 10 years and constant wear).
One of 2 stockists had 20% today so pretty pleased to buy a pair for $420.
I didn't regard them as Bond/craig related just boots I wear a lot for work and leisure.
But in contrast I bought 2 pairs of CJ s and when I get anor next year I regard them as Bond related
so expect next pair will be a bday present.
Yet I regard my Anthony Sinclair suits ( which are fantastic) as work gear so exempt from being a Bond extravagance.
Not logical I grant you.
Finally our banned mate would be disparaging of me I work missus has looked after kids handles finances tax organizes holidays sorts investments etc. She's business minded I'm not.Pretty much aware of all Bond purchases I recall a bit of push back on JV on basis of practicality of goat suede
