Converse Jack Purcell experiment

Given the rarity of the Jack Purcell OTR from CR I thought I’d try a bit of an experiment and am pretty pleased with the result.
Converse have an option for getting customised Jack Purcell leather hi tops; whilst of course not the OTR version from CR, I thought I’d see how they came out. The overall shape as style is close enough for me. I opted for the dark clove colour, antique brass eyelets and chocolate brown laces. Sidewall options don’t include the brown of the OTR so I went with black.

Anyway, not SA or anything but happy nonetheless!

I did think about getting the light brown/beige coloured sidewalls and then colouring them myself (Angelus dyes can be used to colour them I think). Decided in the end the black looked good enough.
Well done Dufus and thanks for sharing.
The result is outstanding -{ -{ -{
Looks great. Very well done. -{
What is the width and sizing of the shoes?
I went with a Uk 7.5/US 8.5/EU42/26.5cm. I take a 6.5 in C&J, 7 in J Crew Kentons for reference; a 26.5cm is my normal training shoe (sneaker) size. I find the Converse Chuck Taylor range too narrow for my feet; I have had Jack Purcell in leather before and in my opinion they are a bit wider throughout so fit comfortably.
There is an 'all black' rubber "Jack Purcell" logo applied to the back of the heel on the sidewall.
Run fast enough up a crane and no-one will notice

I need to see if I can find a store that carries Jack Purcells to try on since Converse Chucks are too narrow for me.
James Bond- Licence To Kill
I did play with that too but went with a contrasting smile and tongue label as on the originals (they were blacked out for the screen).
I find Jack Purcells to fit wider than Chucks; I can't wear Chuck Taylors but these are fine. Still not the widest of shoes but not as narrow as the Chuck's.
