    I think we just need to be careful to claim or assume any of these are screen accurate...as opposed to acknowledging that this is one that's close enough....

    I didnt think you minded "close enough" Dave ? You have plenty of "close enough" props in your collection and you have admitted this yourself -{

    Or do you just have you rusty sherifs badge on, seems to me you are always picking faults in DENNIS and his posts, we were all newbies at one time -{

    I echo that and that applies to everyone here.
    We know that (rightly) many people take AJB‘s info as gospel so we should all be very careful not ruining that reputation with things „ looks correct to me“

    I don't think anybody is going to die or have their life effected if things are wrong. It promotes discussion and that's how things get correctly identified. What do we have to do now, run things passed Miles or Barbel before we start a thread on identifying things. Who is going to be the person who OK's that things are correct before we post? Is an all knowing God online? Anyone have Matthew Brodericks email?

    Looks like he's done his research to me and found them.

    It's just a bloody glass. Why's everybody going off on one about having 'official' confirmation? Most of the props and clothes discovered on here don't have that.

    I guess I did have my rusty sheriff badge on....good points. Don't mind close enough at all....but I have seen a lot of people (myself included) put an official ID stamp on something and then crowds form. Then when the correct ID is made disappointment occurs. I have discussed this in my vlogs and yes I have been guilty with brands, colors, you name it. Just was trying to give some experiential advice but I hear ya on the strong arm aspect.
    Good feedback gents....

    1) Denis Bond was asked contribute to the forum, not just ask questions. The first time he’s done that he got slapped back for posting an object before knowing it’s official. I cannot figure out what it is you’re looking for from the man. Isn’t doing just that and the discussion that followed how most items ended up being identified in the first place?

    2) In regards to the thread “Wot is going on with AJB0007?” When people such as myself point out that AJB is very club-like, not being welcoming to new members, this is what we’re talking about.

    3) To combine both points - having 100% proof upon first post is not expected for those in the club...

    Denis and I have been speaking through PM in a positive manner...my only point here was to be careful to state something is 100% because I have seen first hand the run on these things and people believing its a found item. Close enough is amazing! I love close enough but I myself have been guilty of Airmans, wrong color of items, items of clothing....hell you name it. And Denis had a good natured response after my comment.

    Regardless, I get it. Not too old to learn myself and if this seemed abrupt or unwelcomed I am hearing it loud and clear.

    Sorry, not to keep this thread flaming but your point #3, I just don't agree with...its BECAUSE of those posts and issues that I have to be very careful. I did say most likely but even that can cause a cascade of purchases. I know this very well.
    Now, if a lot of you think I am being aggressive to people or clickish, I take that feedback in the vein in which it is given....and of course I am open to it.

    This. This is what’s going on with AJB.

    I am guilty having jumped too fast on it and I apologize to Denis.

    however:

    1. Dennis has been asked not to open threads on and on and just asking for Spectre objects - WITHOUT RESEARCH from his part.
    He was always welcome opening ONE Spectre Thread and ask all his questions there

    Today, I simply overread his instagram source and thus wrongly assumed that this has just happened again. Once again, I am sorry.

    In this case, I was prejudiced and acted too quickly.

    2. Nothing to do with a secret Club - sorry - I've just been trying to protect AJB's authority for identifying things.

    I try to be better.

    You are both gentlemen for responding that way.

    My criticisms were meant to be constructive, not personal or negative. If they came off in any other way then let this clarify that.

    very interesting events. I completely agree that we should all be careful not to take this hobby or ourselves too seriously, as I have seen that happen on here too many times. However, there is a tendency on here for false information to spread like wild fire. Probably one of the worst cases of incorrect identification is that of the Skyfall Enjoying death chinos.

    It is considered by most to be the gospel truth that the chinos in Skyfall are grey Topman's. However, I am of the camp who would describe the color of those chinos as anything but grey:

    Additionally, I remember some on here debating if they were even Topman's, stating that it was never distinctly verified by the costume department; I could be mistaken about that however. But, that just goes to show how easy it is to get things mixed up around here.

    But, of course, as pointed out, these are but a pair of pants worn by an actor portraying James Bond, so we really shouldn't lose too much (more) sleep about it :)) .

    By the way, if anyone is wondering what my credentials are for questioning the "greyness" of the Skyfall chinos, I point to two things:

    1. Matt S agrees with me
    2. I have spent many countless hours staring at DC's crotch and bum.

    Jany directly told a member here who then relayed that info back to us that the pants were indeed Topman. Not sure she said they were grey or we just chose what looked the most accurate given the available images at the time. As happens sometimes in this hobby they were ID'ed way before the film came out so we had limited images to initially work with. I got the Topman chinos in grey when they were first ID'ed and the fit and style looks dead on to the ones Craig wore. That said, I agree with you that they probably are not as grey as they register on screen.

    Mantis: :)) oh David, we both know it's point number 2 and that you've got more hours under your (or should I say Craig's) belt than I do :))

    Walthee p99: thanks for the clarification. I thought I read on a post once that Jany never actually said that or she took it back or something, but I'm probably remembering incorrectly. :s

    Commandant: you ain't kiddin' :))
