Mock Jack Purcell OTR

Hello everyone, I wanted to run an idea past you all and get some feedback.
Like many of you, for years I've been hunting for a pair of Converse Jack Purcell OTR chocolate/ paprika in my size (if ypu have a 10.5us you're looking to get rid of please pm me!!) But my hunts have come up fruitless.
There are plenty of brown leather Purcell's all over ebay, but not the OTR's. I few years ago I decided to paint the rims on my car black using a special spray paint called PlastiDip, when it dries it turns into a plastic/rubber. If you've ever seen the infomercials for Flex Seal, it's similar to that.
I've been thinking of getting a pair of the brown leather purcell's and masking of the shoe, and painting the rubber sole using PlastiDip or even flex seal to achieve the OTR look. Of course they would be low tops and have a few variances like the eyelets and heel, but overall may look the part.
Thoughts?

Pretty sure that would wear off pretty quick on something that flexes as much as a shoe.

Maybe the flex seal spray would work better?

I've put plasti dip on broom handles as a makeshift grip. It wears off. Friends have used the spray to temporarily coat hubcaps. Probably easiest to get custom Jack Purcell's off of Converse's website.

I have a pair of OTR’s only took me 10 years to get a second hand pair so patience if definitely your friend.
I had heard some contacted converse who advised you could create your own custom OTRs. I looked at it but could not find the site.

Try the link above you may get someth8ng close you never know.

Your suggestion does seem to have a limited shelf life

    Cheers :007)

You can get the hi tops as a ‘custom build’ on the Converse website.

I ended up with a decent alternative from them by doing that. I started a thread on it in this section; have a look and see what you think.
