Tom Ford Steve McQueen

I don’t think this has been posted before, we are all aware of the links between Bond and McQueen and the QoS cardigan but now Tom Ford has called one The Steve McQueen cardigan:

That's certainly...interesting, considering the design of the Quantum and McQueen cardi appear to be virtually identical (apart from the closer fit).
Also, unless Ford dug up his closet, I've never seen McQueen wearing a grey cardi.
He wore a brown one in Bullitt and his well known blue one in his personal life but no grey cardigan.
I hope someone proves me wrong.
    a reasonable rate of return

Tom Ford is probably just following in Barbour's footsteps with a licensed deal with the McQueen estate. Be interesting to see the particulars of the deal since I'm sure there will be no overlap with the type of "McQueen" items sold by Barbour.

    Probably.
I'd love to see what comes out of the deal, clothing-wise. Maybe they'll make a modern Bullitt jacket.
    One can dream.

Its been called “McQueen cardigan” by many outlets for a few years now - particularly Harrods.

Now its appeared also on Tom Fords website labelled as such it would be interesting to know if officially licenced.

Presume it has to be as the McQueen estate took Belstaff to court (when Matchless owner owned the company) as they never concluded a licence deal and Belstaff went ahead and used his name and image anyhow. This was eventually settled out of court
