James Bond's Attache Cases

A little something for Christmas morning. An extended vlog on the attaches of James Bond including a detailed discussion on the granddaddy of them all by our very own Ed Maggiani! Something for everyone in this vlog and at nearly 37 minutes it's chock full of information...you may need a tall beverage for this one!

Incredible video and a great Christmas present. What are the chances of getting this project happening again? Someone somewhere could make alot of money out of this

Cracking info. I remember 20 years ago when I was Elcometer collecting and selling and before AJB was alive - I accidently crossed Elcometer paths with Ed and he told me that amazing history of the case. Stonking. And although tens of Elcometers passed through my hands over the years, it was Ed that popped a screen accurate one back into my FRWL collection only very recently to go with Ricks holster and an accurate AS suit.

OK, you guys are starting to make me blush. If my head gets any bigger I won't be able to fit through the door!!!!
Let's face it. I was just a lucky guy that happened to be at the right place at the right time.

Let us all not forget that my knowledge is just an accumulation of information that I gather from all the fans and prop-makers on this board that I retain and get to sometimes share back (Maybe THAT'S why my head's so big)

Very glad that I was able to share and pass along my knowledge of the attaché' case to those that didn't know the backstory.

    Very interesting!
I have an interest in the attache cases as well.
    I have the:
Black aluminum 2006 Casino Royale Sony Spy Gear case (needs new latches)
    Aluminum Swatch briefcase
    Aluminum 40 DVD briefcase
Black fabric and vinyl 007 fragrance briefcase
Black fabric and vinyl Spectre briefcase
I would like to get eventually:
    The globetrotter slim attache

Black Globe-Trotter 18" Slim attache was supplied for production for Bond to use in Skyfall, but never appeared on screen.

Is there a specific elcometer that was used, Ed said in the vlog it was ‘just an elcometer’, and I can’t seem to find any other details on it. The reason I ask is I have located this one here in NZ, and possibly at a good price, but would value an opinion on SA, if it is at all.

There are different versions of the Elcometer over the decades.
If you have the screen accurate variant, depends on the leather covering, the size of the knob and most importantly on how the dial looks.

Finally got the time to watch and have to say another corker of a VLOG DZ very insightful and Ed’s case is just a piece of movie history. The back story to it is amazing and it’s nice to hear back in the day EON was so wilco in assisting connecting everyone up. Kind of get the feeling you might be a bit hard pushed to do the same these days.

Once again thanks for sharing guys it was a blast!

    Cheers :007)

Awsome work Dave! My dad actually had one of those YOLT Samsonites back in the day and at certain point carried an Interarms Walther PPKs.

Really liked Ed's discussion regarding the FRWL attache case. Although he related the story to me years ago, it was great hearing it again. Moreover, it reaffirms what an awesome bit of kit the S.D. Studios case is and why, God willing, I will never sell mine. I have also added Ed's talcum powder tin, bug detector (Elcometer) and Christof's silencer. Need to get Christof's scope and scope mount, that is freakin awesome!

Oh yeah, I have Ed's attache case book too. It's worth the price either in book form or CD!

    Great work guys!

    Happy New Year all!
