Ending Scenes in a Boat

In one of the Austin Powers films, Austin and his partner end up in a life raft and Austin says, "All of my films end like this." I looked over the official Bond series to find that a whopping 11 of the films end with Bond and his partner in a boat or some sort of water vessel:

Dr No
From Russia with Love
Thunderball
You Only Live Twice
Diamonds Are Forever
The Man with the Golden Gun
The Spy Who Loved Me
Moonraker (technically it's a space pod, but it functions in the same way as a life raft on water, only in space)
For Your Eyes Only
Octopussy
Tomorrow Never Dies

What's interesting is that 10 of the films Cubby produced ended this way. Was this a fairly typical ending in early romance films?
5 of Connery's 6 official films ended this way and 5 of Moore's 7 films ended this way.

Further, if you look at the first 20 films, all except the Dalton films, end with Bond and the girl in a remote location.

Adrift for hours alone with nothing else to do I guess is the theme here. You could even count Moonraker as a "craft".

Helicopters are a big one, DN and TMWTGG are the only ones without them.
