Wow, that is one of the best birthday gifts in the world. Amazing friends, I am in awe, nuckleheads!

The box costs around 280 GBP on the Taylor of Old Bond Street site.

I also got the Dovo Solingen blade, was really hard to identify - but i have seen some articles on the web about the blade already, quick message to Dovo solved the problem..The company happens to be just around the corner. But with the display in the Omega Store it is 100 % proof now what exactly the used products were. Also went wrong with the Shaving Bowl as i bought the Taylor of Old Bond Street one and their badger brush...this week will cost me a couple of quid extra i guess :D

But without the two guys almost nobody would know about the box and the shaving scent/perfume and the comb!! Thanks for the nice vlog and sharing all your experiences... especially on a rainy sunday like this, it is always a highlight.
    Did you bring any chocolates?

Brilliant as always, and a very happy birthday!

A note about when you asked if there is a literary connection to Dovo... I will post a link below to the best modern day equivalent of the book Bond’s razor. It was mentioned by Fleming that Bond used a Hoffritz, which was manufactured by Mercur, which was then purchased by Dovo Solingen.

Fleming once said Bond used a safety razor because the handle could hold “minor tools of espionage – codes, microdot developers, cyanide and other pills.”

Also, and this is just my own thing, I would not find it unusual at all for Bond to not carry a travel size brush. They are just worthless to use and I have a full size one in my travel kit.

Folks - I am an ecologist in the real world as well as a Bond fan in the other world and just to say that we should be aware of the provenance around shaving brushes and use of badgers to produce them - I have my own Bond shaving kit with a fantastic synthetic shaving brush that gives just as good a feel and lather as badger hair without the issues that go with the provenance of badger hair brushes. Most of these come from China and there are some issues if you wished to look into it - I am not wishing to come across all evangelical about the eco-world etc but just giving a gentle nudge in the same way that Iconic Alternatives promotes the idea of sustainable alternatives and some ideas that are kind to the planet - after all isn't it down to 007's efforts that "the world is saved yet again" so often? - also - a very cool set and Happy Birthday David - keep up your amazing work!

I applaud this sentiment, I've used badger brushes for years now, along with a straight razor and rosewood soap bowl. I only buy British badger, quite recently we've had a large debate in the UK about badgers and badger culling, it's actually illegal here to handle badgers dead or alive without an appropriate licence, interestingly a couple of well known shaving product companies tendered for the culling, for obvious reasons. The plight of farmed animals in some countries is quite upsetting
    . On a happier note, many happy returns David -{

Fantastic. Bond inspired me to shave with a brush, and I have to say it has been the best shave of my life. I don't think I would be brave enough to use the open blade though:-)

    Happy birthday!

Could the comb be a Geo F Trumper horn comb? There was a mention of searching both London stores, and it seems to match the online pics. That would leave the question of what size.

It was certainly my impression from the video that it was Trumper...

    Hi all,

I’ve had quite a few emails regarding all the component parts of the kit.

Give us a few days and we’ll fill you in, nothing to hide, just busy at the moment.

The shaving bowl in the link already posted is correct, just with the label removed.

Actually you're both off slightly on that. The one displayed in the box at the Omega store wasn't the screen-used model. I've been talking to the propmaker that prepped that particular set. The Taylors model I posted about years ago is the correct model. Like the other items, all branding was taken off. Trumpers may also have stocked the correct shape of brush as they all use the same manufacturer, but only Taylors seem to have it now, or at least did two years ago. Also trying to find out exactly which comb was used, but although he sent a very detailed email to me about how they modified and sourced this set, all he remembers is removing the branding, and not what brand it originally had. As soon as all that lot is sorted, as well as the custom label created for the bottle, I'm sure Si will update this thread.

Anyone trying to source a screen accurate black buffalo handle with as little of the light horn showing through is going to have a hard time, especially online. On set they used a black Sharpie and silicon to make them all uniform for continuity.
