Next generation of Bond movies

I'm new here and there's no such thing as an original idea, so if this thread already exists, forgive me. But I recently ran across ideas for Bond after CG and one of them was Hiddleston set in the 50's and it got me thinking... what would I (and you) think of remakes of the original books? Not "reboots", mind you, but actual, faithful recreations set in that timeperiod.

I think the books stand up really well (insert racism/sexism comments here): the pacing, the stories, the non-comic book version of the villains (Dr. No gave me the freakin' willies!)... What would you all think?
