I have a picture of me standing in front of the Olympic sign, and a very similar one taken in front of the Olympic ski jump near innsbruck, unfortunately they are proper old photos not digital.

For my vlog-ish "Monte Carlo Experience" video, which is coming soon™, I tried to recreate that iconic shot but I wasn't photographed at a far enough distance.

What about on a bit of plastic sheet when I was younger I might of had a go, we use to do similar in a local quarry, I was much younger though but still just as stupid
Yes, but I didn't get in to Casino Monte Carlo because I read that no photos are allowed of the interior of the casino, and on top of that I'm not a gambling man :007). The part where Pierce suavely walked though the casino would probably be deeper inside and closed to people like me (I mean, the Riviera's great and all but you can't beat a Brioni tuxedo. Side note: what's the dress code?)

The raw footage I took shows the many tourists and posers around the entrance of the casino. I tried to recreate the camera shots of Bond/Pierce being greeted by Pierre in front of the casino but they added a separator between the (guests', I presume) luxury cars and the public. Also, the DB5 didn't stop in the front entrance (where the crossing lines are, sorry I didn't have the film handy) but rather a couple of meters away, where my photo was taken.
There was too much of a crowd over there and I didn't want to get ran over (by an orange Lambo, no less.) https://my.mixtape.moe/refedl.mov
I couldn't properly recreate the tracking shot of the DB5 going towards the casino because they added a complex of luxury stores but this was the best I could manage. https://my.mixtape.moe/bxwmst.mov
You can spot many differences from 1995, including but not limited to...
-...less palm trees.
-...a metal sculpture in the main fountain, which was added on 1999, as a donation if memory serves me correctly
-...a small shopping district
-...the smaller fountain being dismantled when I visited
-...the separator for the parking spaces of luxury cars
-...cars being parked around the fountain
I didn't get to see much of the city but I did manage to spot where the Frigate would have the Tiger demonstration and even an F355 in a Ferrari dealer on my way to the casino.
Wanted to go to the place where Bond spots Onatopp but there wasn't enough time and I didn't have a certain monocle to make it to this thread.
I dropped in...shot in and out...and then left.

Great stuff! I was there over a decade ago and remember the interior being a lot smaller then i imagined but very luxurious as expected. If I recall correctly there's only one shot in the film where Pierce is actually inside the casino, everything else was a set.
