Just have been speaking with a befriended collector.

He passed on the screen used shaving brush some time ago - what a dumbass 8-)

In looking into this, I have a creeping doubt about the brush, and I’m not saying I’m right, but I am saying it’s worth a double check before any money has been spent on a project like this...

One aspect of any shaving brush is it’s knot size. You would choose a different size based on whether you face lather or bowl lather.

Here is an example of the two I use:

    EBE32_CFD-596_E-44_C8-_BC93-14_C1_E706430_A.jpg

Look at the knot on the brush asp9mm posted:

    85_E62840-7_D48-447_A-_B3_B7-79_D1_F3_FED85_F.jpg

And look at the SA one:

    F495_CB3_D-33_F3-4199-9_EB4-972_A1_C4739_F1.jpg

To my eyes, the SA one has a much larger knot - it’s taller than the handle, whereas asp9mm’s is shorter.

Anyway, I thought I should at least post this to see what others thought...

An interesting question. I'd say the brush in the screen shot you shared is wet and loaded, which will make it look bigger than the dry brush in the pic asp9mm shared. There's also cream on the top of the brush in the screen shot, which adds to the height. So I find it pretty likely that the brush in asp9mm's pic and the one in your screen shot are the same.

But I agree that it would be interesting (very important to some) to hear what knot size they'll be using.

Well in terms of being a KNOB, Asp9mm outsizes them all 8-)

If the knot size is any bigger than the example I’ve shown, it won’t fit in the box. Plus it’s exactly the same size as the screen accurate Taylors I bought him 2013, so all is good. I think it’s the angle of my picture and because the lens is far closer that causes the distortion compared to the screen cap.

I'm in as well, assuming the price is reasonable. I think it's time for a new brush.

Well two ways to look at it thought it was going to be £40 plus for the brush, uk postage is a rip off probably will be £13 to post it. Might be worth a number of USA customers getting together and getting a number posted over and being dispatched from there

They have managed to secure this batch really cheap, I was expecting them to be a lot more expensive:

Fellas, hold off on this. Looks too small to me, it should be a MEDIUM size, not small. The overall length on the correct one is 100mm, handle 50mm long by 35mm diameter. Bristle length 50mm. The shape on the handle is too squat as well.

I don’t know how they cocked this up, the correct one is still on their website here....

I ordered mine already; the smal size. I this is true Asp9mm, that I am not very happy with this situation. I hope that jared_nomak can explain this.
