I agree that a PO would be the best choice, and maybe a nice 38.5 AT for some of the less action-oriented stuff. I wonder if the PO is due for a refresh at Basel this year? That could tell us something.

You’re right! I remember that being a big story last year but I’d since forgotten. I have no interest in Omega outside of what Bond straps on his wrist. And even that is a begrudging interest.
I wonder if they will build a Bond reveal into their even to drum up interest. My money is on yes.

My bet that Omega this year will be about 69 more than OO7.
Any chance Rolex could return or are Omega contracted for the near future?
Omega and EON have a very close relationship that is a dream for business and advertising. It’s almost a partnership now, the relationship is that close. Rolex don’t pay for on screen endorsement, that they consider ‘crass’, so it will never happen

Rolex would never pay to be featured in a Bond film, so there's no chance they would ever return. Bond is more likely to wear any big watch brand other than Rolex.
I got an email from my Omega rep today saying that they're announcing some sort of limited edition Bond watch this week. I can't imagine it's the Bond 25 (ECLIPSE? 8-) ) watch, so another Commander-type situation?

Hmm, that'll be very interesting to see if it's true.
They usually issue one Bond-related edition that is only remotely connected to Bond during the Basel fair (where they don't participate this year, they show the new stuff in Zurich).
Basel opens doors this Thursday.

Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!
Very likely we get some LE watch that has no real connection to the film. But they might also release something this week that does end up in the film, but we won’t know it until later.
I also got a call from the Omega boutique near me, saying there's going to be an upcoming Bond Seamaster hinting that it might feature a laser engraved gun barrel design (replacing the waves on current SMP I guess) and that it will be released later this year.

Again.
They really are running out of ideas. Not that they ever had any when it comes to their Bond limited editions.
Perhaps an OHMSS 50th Anniversary edition? after all they released that black faced Seamaster which had nothing to do with anything what so ever as they did for that stoopid Commander Edition X-(
I collected all the Bond editions religiously until the black faced Seamaster which was swiftly followed by the 50th Anniversary edition in two different. Additionally at this time the prices started to go through the roof!
When all this kicked off back in 2002 the 40th Anniversary Bond Seamaster was £1,249 which was doable. This was followed by the two Casino Royale timepieces which retailed at £1749 each followed by the Quantum of Solace edition which was £2,249 and my favourite of all the Bond Limited Editions. The SPECTRE 300M was possibly the best Bond edition but I simply couldn't justify the cost. I can only imagine how many zeros will be in the price of the B25 Bond edition when finally released! -{

I would agree with that assessment. Particularly regarding the SPECTRE 300M limited edition. I mean come on. What makes it limited? Because they only decided to make so many. To me it was just a blatant money grab and it wasn't all that great a Bond movie either. Skyfall was better.
DG.
So, what sharp little eyes you've got...wait till you get to my teeth.

You are too kind. Spectre was a horrendous excuse for a Bond movie, and the 300m LE was a vastly overrated watch. Hopefully they do better on both fronts this time.

DAD, AVTAK were “horrendous” Spectre was not IMHO. I also loved the Omega in Spectre!
I wouldn't be surprised if they gave the iconinc 165.024 a modern twist, just like they did it with CK2913 (hope I am getting the referrence numbers right) just like before Spectre and produced a limited version for it just like last time around.
Plus the latest SMP300 thrown in somewhere just to boost sales of those as well - not like it wasn't their best selling model anyway.
Just talked with Omega. Here’s what I learned: There’s going to be a limited edition coming out this summer. The movie watch will come out early next year. Taking deposits around Christmas

Thanks Bill! As I recall you were the first one to know of the Commander watch release.
I wish it would have golden hands, laser engraved barrel and some kind of cartridge case in the back. I also wish they could make it in unusual colors. I wish they'd display/sale it in June.

A bit late to the reply party but that's very interesting news! I'm assuming that then means that the B25 screen worn watch is not then going to be released as a limited edition like the SP 300 and the LE will be reserved for a CR/QOS/SF edition type model.
I'm also quite happy to hear that the movie watch will come out next year, which means that—and I'm sorry to all that like them—Bond won't be wearing any of the god awful Diver 300 collection that came out this/last year.

Then again the Aqua Terra 007 branded watch was a LE and came out before SPECTRE. Didn't stop them making the SPECTRE SA watch LE also.
Oh hang on yeah, I didn't really pay attention to the "LE's coming out this summer" part—which is well before the film's release. Does anyone remember when Omega released the LE's for CR-SF? Before or after the film came out??

They’re doing they’re own thing this year as are a few others. It’ll certainly be more of an event.

Well it was released in same year as Spectre (which also featured a blue AT)
I think it was simply a case of Omega cashing in on the upcoming film of that year
