OHMSS Scene Re-enactment: Palacio Arrival Video

My dear fellow Bond collectors,
Following years of chasing down the original cameraman, I was finally able to put together this little video of our Palacio Arrival scene recreation, shot in San Francisco, using the Fairmont Hotel as a double for the Palacio.
I cannot tell you how much fun it was to do, and by now I have forgotten all of the stress and work it was to pull off the shot.
Did my best to recreate the scene frame by frame.
If I ever do another one, at the Palacio, I will change two major things...
Firstly, the DBS will have the earlier, and correct "sharknose" front spoiler, and the Cougar will be a drophead.
Oh yes, and I plan to grow a foot taller and become 25 years younger...
Hope that you all enjoy the scene.
Cheers, Tom

Very well done.
Well done nice piece to camera from all the car owners, chance of a lifetime well taken!
Cheers :007)
Congratulations, Thomas! This is great, I loved it!!
Your enjoyment of my work is the reason that I had the idea in the first place.
I was able to gather quite a cast of characters, working with other car clubs, and making new friends along the way. Very lucky to live where I do, as most of the cars were within 1 hour's drive. The convertible Cougar was the toughest, but Mark's coupe was fine, as Tracy's car had the top up in some other scenes, and it was the closest that I could come to the correct car.
The Hotel was fantastic! I met with their Director of Marketing on several occasions, and presented 8x10 shots of what I wanted to accomplish. My enthusiasm and presentation went a long way, and Mantis is correct, it is all about not only communication, but how you communicate to people in charge. My sales skills are not wasted on nuts and bolts!
The tourists really got into the act. One older couple from Australia was a hoot, especially the wife, who sat in the DBS, and would not come out. She kept trying to sell her husband to buy the car!
The Fairmont has now received their copy of the work, and are quite happy to use it in their commercials and played in the lobby along with their touristy videos.
Another aspect is the film crew. Would have cost a fortune, but my 20 years in an entertainment field helped that along. My broadcast partner of 15 years played the bellboy, and conducted most of the interviews.
Nearly never completed the work as we had bad audio on much of the raw footage, and the main cameraman disappeared for 2 years, promising to send the footage to me, but in the end, finally did.
The DBS today is undergoing a re-restoration following vandalism in 2106. You can follow all of that action on OHMSSDBS.com.
I hope that this work inspires many more Bond fans to do this type of re-enactment.
I hope to send a copy to EON, and hope they won't sue me.
Thank you all again!
Tom
