Skyfall Tokito Flap

Forgive me guys because I know there are a lot of posts about the Skyfall Tokito.

I was recently lucky enough to purchase one of these jackets having looked for one for some time. From memory in the movie the flap was maybe removed/maybe not removed...but what's the consensus and experience from those who own one?

I don't really want to butcher the jacket, the flap could be useful some day. I was thinking of maybe getting a button on the inside of the jacket to fasten it down when not in use, up toward the pit of the left sleeve has anyone tried this?

I'm pretty sure Bond's Barbour does have the flap. You can see it when he has the jacket open prior to moving the mirror with Kincade if I remember correctly.

Yep, you can see here, it's there and folded over at the top.

I love the flap. On really cold/wet/blustery days, there's nothing like fastening that thing in place to keep out the weather.

I just wouldn't want it flapping about when not in use, I think I'll add a button on the inside to button it in place and hold it. It seems the least destructive way. I'm really not keen on removing it completely. It's a shame if the flap was just marginally smaller in width they could have done this anyway.

I’ve always been surprised the flap wasn’t button on like the hood and throat piece.

The screen used one used one of the spare buttons they removed from the outside to secure it to the top on the inside. The button is located almost in the arm hole. They did this on all of the screen used jackets.

Personally I love the flap on my To Ki To. It’s a unique detail that really distinguishes the jacket from similar styles. My feeling is if you want to remove it, why not just go with the Beacon Heritage?

Thanks ASM this is what I thought would be the best approach. I don’t want to remove it Cheverian I just want to be able to tuck it out of the way as I will seldom use it.

From what Asp9mm says, adding an internal button will make it screen accurate!
