Update: The Hungarian Lego Store website apparently jumped the gun, and accidentally revealed that it is in fact an Aston Martin DB5 that's on the way. The offending page has since been taken down, and there weren't any pictures of the set, but it's nice to know for sure. According to the leak it will cost 49,999 Hungarian Forint (£135, directly converted), and will be initially available on 1st August before going on general sale on 8th August.
That's contrary to rumours it would arrive on 15th August for Lego VIPs (31st for regular buyers), which came from a leaked Lego release calendar. So it looks like we'll have to wait and see what Lego has to say on 18th.
Even before the leak I assumed it was going to be the Aston Martin since their logo is right there. Any word if it's just a one off, or the first in a series of Bond sets? The latter seems to be more likely if they went through all the trouble of securing the rights from EON.
I find it interesting that both this and the first phase of the OB 007 collection are released when a Bond film isn't even filming yet. Not that its completely unheard of, of course. You just usually see stuff like this launched around the time a film about to be released.
Much like the OB shorts and the Commander watch, a very disappointing use of the license. If you count Spectre (and I do), EON is on a terrible cold streak. Hopefully Danny Boyle can snap it.

Unfortunately, I don't think Danny Boyle will have much to do with the marketing and licensing. But I hope he can give us a better film.
Is anyone a little disappointed with that image if true? I don't think they've done the DB5 justice. Looks a bit boxy to me. The rear quarters and front end and bonnet are poor.
Even though clever I think anyone who spent 2 years building the partworks DB5 may agree that it cannot be beaten and certainly not by something which is not DB5 shaped ...nice try Lego!
Why do EON only ever exhibit/auction the fibreglass SKYfall lodge signs? the screen prop is grey polyurethane to simulate stone!

I am disappointed in the design -- should have been much larger to possibly better capture the car's contours; look at the new Bugatti kit -- but I expect LEGO did a fair amount of analysis on price point, part count, etc. to arrive at this. Aston Martin may also have had some say; even though this is a thoroughly different animal to die-cast, I know licensors try to not to issue too many products in the same scale.
Wouldn't be surprised if the sign came from PropShop and not EON as I believe they did the castings.
The rest was a mish-mash of studio and replica.

Propshop made the originals, another company made the fibreglass copies for charity events and for some cast members. Only Craig and Mendes got the original production made polyurethane resin grey versions. And only 8 of those were made.
I hope the final version will look more like a DB5
This is the final version. Personally, I don't mind it too much. I didn't realize legos were taken so seriously until this Bond thing came out. It is getting a ton of hate. I thought legos were supposed to look like you know "legos" and the realism is for the high end replicas.
Maybe Lego could have made it have the curves of the DB5 while maintaining the gadgets? I'm not an expert.

^This.
With the AM logo on the teaser page it was either that or the DB10 and the DB10 isn't as well known as the DB5. -{

Where's this picture from David?
Thanks David.

Review of the DB5
At the Lego store? So I take it that Skyfall model will be there?
If I was into Lego I can imagine that would be lots of fun.

Agreed! Looking forward to building it!
